What about McCardle, Fox and Hirst? I see they have gone back to the club which would b good with the new points system in place? They were very handy against us last year

Anyone know the results of the Victor vs Noarlunga trial on the weekend ?

I heard there were a couple of possible recruits/players that each side was trying to get interested in the result of this game as they were still yet to decide who they were going to play for.

Interesting to see on the GSFL web site, the clerance in to Myponga of D. Stephenson. I think he was a former team mate at south of princi, and may have won a reserves best and fairest? Would be a handy pick up for them. Would he do well in great southern?

That would be Dylan Stephenson, he used to play for South Adelaide and went alright from memory. I couldn't tell you much about what sort of player he is though.

Dylan Stephenson will be handy 4 the mudlarks as he can play anywhere. Although I bet pongy are busy installing plenty of mirrors as we speak!

chief has started pretty well, probably didnt have the greatest pre season due to an adelaide oval (under the scoreboard) injury. Max will play B grade every now and then beacuse of golf committments and we have shane fox who is injured. Think the fox you are referring to would be Ryan. I think, without being arrogant, 'very handy' in the hills country division doesnt necessarily mean much when coming back to the GSFL

Sounds like the GSFL sides did well in there trials over the weekend!

Creeks missing 7 or so players and still competing well with the Emus just confirms to me they wont drop away at all like some people are suggesting.

This week i tip

Very easy to make asumptions for round 1 lads however I think there will be some clubs out there looking to get off to a good start which will make atleast the half time scores neck and neck.

Chris Jurek off to Victor at $450 a game, any truth to this? He apparently visited a few clubs in the GSFL with a self imposed bounty on his head.

Would not suprise me one bit. I am not exactly sure the figures he 'quoted' us (saints) but they were very high which is why negoatiations came to a halt. I also know that 2 Saints senior players bailed him up at the crown one night about forgetting about the money and playing with his mates at Goolwa but he said that in his situation money was the most important thing.

Don't know about the GSFL but in my league when a player does that type of thing he comes under a lot of scrutiny weekly.
Can't believe a bloke would do that who has never played league, bit of an insult really.

Theres no hard feelings from the Saints we cleared him straight up. But you are right about the attention he has bought to himself (if he has gone about it the way its been rumoured). He will need to be right up there as a premier mid fielder, top 10 mail medal etc

He'll give a good account of himself week in week out. Saucy wouldnt have it any other way and Jureks a good player so i assume he will slot in nicely down there.

LF you boys must have played a good game against Cove over the weekend to knock them off. Much better account of yourselves than your previous trial.

If Jurek was playing for the money he would have gone to the Bays. Heard Victor offered $200 and that is fair. He did play State under 18s and has mates at the Roos.

TC on the money there , thats what he has gone for . Cant blame the bloke wanting a bit of folding and playing with mates . He was never really in the hunt at the saints thats why he was cleared straight away . Good luck to him

Emus missing some of their better players in the trial against creeks . Spoke to simmo and said it was a good hit out , some of the other lads in the team played quite well .

As far as tips go you cant go past

Willunga
Bays
Strath
Creeks - Reeves kicked 7 in the trial
Compass

Interesting to see a few more players with clearances into pongy , may well be better than what people give them credit for .

Hodge is a very handy player and with jurek teams will have their hands full in the centre . How was the ruck dual .

Stepho! At pongy?!! Does he know that oval gets muddy?

There is a billboard on Hampstead Road with a picture of the great man (with no shirt on) advertising a modelling agency or something..

With Princi & Stephenson on board they'll have to change their name to the Metro-larks.
