Morphies beat Langhorne Creek in both the A and Bs, both clubs with a fair few players out. Was a good hitout, with none of our players suffeing DVT on the long drive down there!

Also was told that Reynella smashed Tailem Bend, my mate saying Ben Moore played and looked every bit the ex-AFL player player and was a cut above the rest.

Got told from someone at SFL Lonsdale have plenty of clearances out but none in and has been stated before that pre season numbers have been terrible.
2 teams amalgamated, no juniors and maybe no oval - could be in trouble....

any news anyone

The meeting was never about Lonsdale folding. It was just to give some of the players (mainly B grade) a kick up the bum and get them out to training. It was also to announce a few of the goings on to players and supporters. The numbers on the track have been dissappointing but all of the A graders have been out and with a couple of handy pick ups should improve on last year. They have a trial against Christies this week (both B's and A's)

If it came down to it Lonnie and christies might join as one??? The 'battle of the beach' doesnt really exist anymore so it could be a possibility!
If all reports are true about numbers etc??
What do you guys think?

The numbers are there hills, just not at training at the moment. But with 2 weeks to go before the season proper, this week should improve. I hear you might be heading back too? Any truth in that?

Size also had a very quiet game against Mt Compass the week before as well. Speaking to a few players and supporters after the game they weren't all that impressed with their new paid recruit. Hopefully he can improve in the coming weeks when he gets to know his new team mates a bit better and gets out to both trainings each week.

I only saw size play a handfull of good games and one or 2 stand out games the year we were both at Flaggies. Has got ability just needs to show it and pull his finger out every week. For Coves sake i hope he shows them what they are paying him for.

Any Reynella players got any info on the Tailem Bend game? Were they good in any positions, etc?

Cove07, did you see the match on the weekend? If so how did you rate the Saints as an opponent?

Brighton did look ok the week before against SHOCs but a little rusty. Statham will dominate SFL.

How did Ben Stokes and Wes Bilney go?

Your right WU, he looks very composed despite having over a year off. Bombers overall still very fast with a few taller types.

Who are these taller types KD? That was probably the only thing Brighton were lacking last season so if they have recruited a couple of quality bigs then they will take some beating in 08.

Brookman is a quality ruckman and statham was good in the transporter & lock stock so they are a definate chance to go one step further.

With Reynella, Porties and Valley all having recruited and by the sounds of it Christies, Lonsdale, Hackham all could the gulf in class be increasing....surely that isnt a good thing for the SFL.

Could be the most open SFL season in a while tho with probably 6 sides in with a shot.
