Johnny Haysman loves carving up!

Balak played Sth Clare last year, tend to alternate with NEFL teams for our 2nd trial.

Went to trial last night, 6 qtr game, both side missing key players, pretty even with perhaps Nth Clare a couple of goals up before ressies players game on after 3rd period.

Walker, Catford, Jonno Evans and Levi best for the Peckers.
Hazbeen, is that Ben Catford? Played a little bit of footy with Benny, unbelievable talent...

Yep, Benny's the man, when fit (had some soft tissue injuries) he is unbelievable thru traffic in the guts. Player of the carnival at interleague carnival for APFL last year. If he stays fit will help the Peckers over the line in some close ones this year for sure.

Oh, and Two Wells Vs Crystal Brooks at the Cock house on saturday 5th that would be the Two Wells cock house as Crystal brook are known as the roosters also i believe.

36 blokes on the park with the same guersney, you'd reckon that might be confusing, but i'm assured arrangements have been made to compensate, should be a better hit out than last week, with a few more blokes available, if anyone is not getting a kick themselves they are more than welcome to join us for a steak sanger and a cock fight!! (not literally)

Another gratuitous Euphemism :D

Round 1

Hummocks vs Balaklava
United vs Mallala
byes : Two Wells, Virginia & Hamley Bridge

Top4 from last year playing each other.

My tips;

GF replay to go to United this time around in a tight close one
3rd vs 4th - Hummocks to repeat 1st semi result but not by as much

played berri. Started slowly but finished strong. won by plenty. one bloke kicked 8 goals in 3 quarters. I think Berri were a little under manned though. Couple of injuries dampened the day a little though. All is well for a big grand final re match this week against United, whom one would say that will be the team to beat this season given the qulaity of their recruits.
All the propergander aside, until round one its hard to know just how each team will go this year. However i will still forward my predictions for the year.
United: Under pressure to convert quality recuits to flags
Mallala: Also under pressure to maintain status as league leaders, lost a lot of quality.
Hummocks: toss up for 2nd or 3rd. Will be super competitve as always
Two Wells: Hard to beat youth, fitness and enthusiasm. If they get early wins and get thier tail up will be hard to beat all year.
Balaklava: Similar list to last year with some key players to come back fit, who will make a big difference to thier game. Andy Michael a big IN for them.
Virginia: Hopefully will be competitive, although recent rumours suggest otherwise. The league needs an improvement form the rams.
Hamley: Lost quality, including Johnny Palmer's offspring, who is a big loss over the summer. Word has it he left for a change of lifestyle not money. Lets hope he stays in the cabinet over winter.

All the best boys.
Tips this week
United by a few over pies
Hummocks by plenty

Saw a few Hummocks and Balaklava boys at the Caledonian on Saturday night, and although I was struggling to walk straight, both camps seemed pretty confident to me...

I would say the Pies have to be under the most pressure Swamp. It's always hard to defend a premiership.

Haha! They may have lost a few but I think they'd still have the best midfield in the APFL IMO.

Crystal Brook were good and will have a super season by the looks of saturday, Two Wells were a bit scratchy as new coach Stephen Fitzgerald experimented with different formula's and players in different positions.

It is important to say that there are good signs for two wells with a few new players finding plenty of it as well as some more of the youngsters looking composed and confident in the hustle bustle of competitive footy.

Couldn't give you goal kickers as wasn't really paying attention, but Allmond , Applebee and humzy were impressive.

Also, to get this season underway, i'm going to have to tip Longies to notch up a win early, all signs point to them having a reasonably good year, although Mallala won't make it easy for them, i think Longies by a couple in the end.

And Hummocks over the Peckers but again, not by heaps, the loss of Valentine a big hole for the Eagles, but they may have enough through the likes of "Wild Man" Wilson, Braham, Reid and co.

Spoke to some of my mates from Crystal Brook and they said they won by 6 or 7 goals in a good hitout.
