Just heard a bit of a whisper that osb/londale are in a bit of trouble. They are having a meeting on sunday to see if they can get enough players together to be able to field an A grade and B grade teams this year. Anybody else know any more

Dont know anything about this but it would be a bit late to make such a call, surley!

Got told from someone at SFL Lonsdale have plenty of clearances out but none in and has been stated before that pre season numbers have been terrible.
2 teams amalgamated, no juniors and maybe no oval - could be in trouble....

Saints (GSFL wooden spooners) beat Cove in a trial today at Goolwa by 7 points. In fairness to Cove I beleive they had plenty out (Vick didnt play and dont think Ramsey did either.) Dont know enough about Cove and who was missing but they lacked in the big men department. They had a huge bloke in the ruck but he had no impact. On a positive note Cove's B's looked good. Seems as though there is depth at the club

Told today Flinders Park flogged Hackham. Wasnt sure if it was the A's or B's but was told it was a 35 goal margin. Still might have some work to do........

Could be a long season for Christies Beach judging by tonights efforts against Mt Lofty, only kicking 5 goals between the senior colts, b grade and a grade. Both senior sides didnt manage a goal until the 3rd quarter

by all regards most have picked christies beach to not be around the mark. Was there any positives that could be taken out of the game for christies beach? Any players that went alright??

Marion Played Hahndorf at Hahndorf yesterday. Went down by about 4-5 goals in the end but had about 6 or 7 A graders out. Not sure what players Hahndorf had out but showed some good signs.

I wouldn't know his name but he wore 22. It was funny because before the game when we saw him floating around we thought that he would dominate but it was not the case.

chrisities beach were terribale. no players really stood out at all in a grade. one young player in the back lines did ok but had no support. cant remember his number. they looked very unfit. would say that it could be a long year for them.

Sounds like him. I shouldn't be too harsh I have seen him play once and it was a trial match. I just expected a little bit more becuase of how big he was.

Cove have a lot of players to come back in with Vick, Ramsey, Weed, Scott Gill and a few others who didn't play I think. Size also had a very quiet game against Mt Compass the week before as well. Speaking to a few players and supporters after the game they weren't all that impressed with their new paid recruit. Hopefully he can improve in the coming weeks when he gets to know his new team mates a bit better and gets out to both trainings each week.

LTTF- Holy cow....only five goals in all grades...Is that indicitive of how poor Christies are or a reflection on the standard of the league???

i think it is a mixture of alot of things. christies playing younger guys to see how they handle bigger bodies, playing guys out of position to see if anybody can stand up and maybe find a few options for the season, the old faithful, players missing and also playing a well drilled, well coached team that move the ball with percision and pace. Mt lofty are a team that just run in numbers.

As for the other grades it may have been a lack of numbers and depth. A lot of kids just stuggling with a quick tempo that mt lofty play.

I would think that christies will be alot better this week and will be more competitive and should be able to play finally a full strength squad this week and look to round 1 against norlunga.

As for the league i think it like comparing apple and oranges. Hills is a quick, play on running game where SFL seems to be more bang and crash pack style of footy. Before people get fired up its just a observation

The meeting was never about Lonsdale folding. It was just to give some of the players (mainly B grade) a kick up the bum and get them out to training. It was also to announce a few of the goings on to players and supporters. The numbers on the track have been dissappointing but all of the A graders have been out and with a couple of handy pick ups should improve on last year. They have a trial against Christies this week (both B's and A's)
