Bristol City were in the 1st Division in 1976. Gerry Gow and Keith Fear were two names I remember. Kevin Mabbutt a bit later.

Stoke were great in the 70's - top half of the table. Peter Shilton, Alan Hudson, Geoff Hurst, Jimmy Greenhoff, Terry Conroy, Mike Pejic, John Mahoney, Geoff Salmons. Salad days under Tony Waddington at the Victoria Ground.

I think he was 50 in his last 1st Division match.

Being chaired off in his testimonial by Lev Yashin and Ferenc Puskas - it got no bigger in those days.

Remember Bristol City too. They actually topped the 1st Division early on, then fell away and were relegated the same year.

Funnily, Carlisle did the same thing and for one season only too.

Harry could be at a club like Boro, West Ham or the like...a mid table struggler...

He was at one, some team called Leeds. Now their in League one or something.

Think it is fair to say that when harry was at Leeds they were anything but a struggling EPL side (Financially maybe). Were a top 4 side and caused some trouble in europe.......

Carlisle had one season in 74-75, the season Derby won the championship. Strangely enough, Derby paraded the trophy to their home fans at their last match - a 0-0 draw with bottom placed Carlisle!

Haz to stay in England IMO given his missus is well entrenched here. Most likely outcome is for one of the promotion sides to pick him up, dependent on his wage demands.

A Scouser from work was up on the Mersey a couple of weekends ago and all the talk up there is that Harry could remain a Red, but on a pay as you play basis. Personally I think all parties had had far too many pints if that's what was being discussed.

Good point, but everyone all over the world has heard of the Spice Girls and Posh Spice.

Without Googling, can you name Harry's missus and what TV show she is famous for? That's the reason I think they'll stay in JTC country.

Exactly the three clubs I was thinking of! Aston Villa could be another.

I agree with you boys that Harry will end up in a mid table side. It's understandable that he didn't go to Fulham in the winter transfer window.

I can't see him going to Boro or Villa while they've got Downing and Young respectively, but the Geordies are world class when it comes to buying older players for inflated sums and putting them on ridiculous salaries.
