dont know about his diet boys,
just know he is running around trying to get fit at footy.
can only hope he gets back to his best as sa cricket could do with his services in full flight.
whether that happens or not is up to him!!!

Good post. It is up to him. Good to hear he is doing something cos he has so much talent it's not funny. If he can accept that he needs to get in better shape and if he manages to succeed with this he will play for Australia. He is that good. Unfortunately the fact he has been in denial about his weight issues has held him back. Lets hope Cossie can become the player we all know he can be.

He has tried this before though and quickly slipped back to being a slob again. Hopefully this time he finally does something about it and gets back to being the cricketer we all know he can be. I won't hold my breath though.

HOME-grown "enigma" Mark Cosgrove feels hurt after another public lashing from a South Australian cricket hierarchy that appears to have lost patience with local talent.

SACA chief executive Mike Deare yesterday described Cosgrove's 2007-08 performance, which yielded a first-class average of 26.15 and 304 one-day runs 38.00 as "abysmal".

Gifted batman Cosgrove was dropped for SA's final two Pura Cup games this season due to "form and fitness" reasons.

"He could be our No. 1 batsman but let us down very badly last season," said Deare, in a rare post-season shot at Cosgrove, already training seven days a week in a bid to shed weight.

"Mark is an enigma to the whole of Australian cricket. Officials of other states, people ask what on earth has happened to Mark this last season?

"His performance has been abysmal."

Cosgrove said he was stunned by Deare's comments as SACA president Ian McLachlan had already told The Advertiser in February that he would "pay the penalty" for his "disappointing" physical condition.

"I haven't played a game of cricket for six weeks. Normally you get dropped and not talked about," said Cosgrove.

"To bring up my season now is surprising and disappointing.

"I am already back training two nights a week with my local footy club and working with (coach) Mark Harrity every day."
I went to a fight the other night, and a hockey game broke out. - Rodney Dangerfield (1921 - 2004)

Taking swipes at him now is pointless. Hes training now, and good on him. But when next season starts up the swipes will start again.
