i dont know his age but would suggest that he has carried souths on ball long enough and injurys are taking their toll
very similar situation that has happened to mccarthy from kapunda
keeping up with the steltzers, greenwoods etc might be to much of a ask
and moving him forward may get you another year or so out of him
just my observations

Aaron Bevis is still a spritely 27 I think...

Andrew Bevis seldom gets out of the goal square these days...

I agree Makris and Coombs would need to improve their fitness to inject any kind of benefit to the flailing on-ball brigade of South Gawler. Lokking through the list, and looking at the juniors coming through, they could very well struggle for a few years without importing guns.

Lutze has indeed severed tendons in his hand. Won't be appearing until Round 6. The lions would do well to win a couple of games in the first five.

Ellis plays onball for South Gawler ? He looked fit enough to me .... agreed makris looks like he should be sent to a fat farm .. cant have mid fielders his size , will get sliced up everytime .

My understanding is that he had a falling out with the president over some issues and left to play with one of his good mates up there...

Hafey you should go out to lyndoch to see Barossa. With Barossa plaiyng Eastern Park a Div3 team you may run into Steve Occoner and you can have a chat face to face. I would love to be there to see that.

Eastern Park v Barossa sounds like it would be pretty good to watch. What time will it all get started?

I would have thought that Barossa would smash Eastern Park.

Other news within the league...Matt Cragg-Sapsford and David Kellett have been refused clearances to Nuri and Willaston respectively

I believe that barossa wanted a clearances for a player last year and willaston said no.

Well done Barossa on not clearing Kellett.

I am sure that would be fantastic entertainment for the local crowd at half time ... if he didnt king hit me before .

Regarding the clearing of players i think it is pathetic clubs don't clear players to other clubs where they want to play . You are not hurting the club you are hurting the player and making him play at a club he doesnt want to or just simply hang up the boots .
