I think the main point that should be looked at concerning Perrie playing at Sturt is that he takes one or two good defenders which means that Chambo wont be playing against 2-3 each contest. One game Perrie kicks 6 and Chambo 1, the next Perrie kicks 2 and Chambo kicks 5, the beauty of it is that it puts up a difficult decision for opposition coaches. At the same time you've got Herring at CHF to keep an eye on also.
Gotta love it! :D
Bring on the Doggies, wish I could be there.

Norwood v Sturt Friday Night

Postby Elbows » Mon Mar 31, 2008 4:46 pm

Its only one game in, but the early signs down at the Parade look pretty dismal. Sturt's demolition of the Legs on Friday night was a professional and clinical display, with the Blues looking like genuine contenders for the flag. Norwood’s total lack of desperation and aggression was a real concern, second to the ball all night and apart from a 10 minute burst in the second quarter, when Sturt obviously took a breather, were completely outclassed. It was probably always going to be a long night for the Legs when Campbell, Massie and Jericho didn’t line up, and it certainly didn’t help, when Perrie kicking straight for the first time in his career bagged 6. Thrashed around the stoppages, well off the pace with leg speed, and not even competitive in the ruck duels, they looked a totally disinterested and poorly coached rabble in the last quarter when they should have been trying to salvage a little pride. Not to kick a goal in the second half on your home ground, in perfect conditions is nothing short of pathetic.

It’s always easy to sink the boots into the coach after a flogging like that, but it’s been pretty obvious over the last two seasons that the team just isn’t playing for Trevor Hill. If there isn’t a significant improvement in the fortunes of this club over the next few weeks, Trevor Hill must do the best thing for Norwood and it’s long suffering supporters and chuck it in!!.

Agreed!!!

Norwood will struggle they have a lack speed and excitement. They are very predictable and dont have that X factor which sets the game going for your team. I think Walker needs to come in as he showed that we was willing to throw his body around and want the footy which a lot of the league players didnt show.

Great signs for the Blues and alot of improvement still i think some skills were poor but can improve (especially bentley hahaha)

What has happened to my beloved Redlegs? For all those who have seen us this year is there any light at the end of the tunnell at all? We've been down for about 6 seasons now and haven't hoisted the flag for over a decade. Surely we should have at least started to move in the right direction.

Are we that bad or are Sturt that good or is both actually true? And to think Ashley Porter selected the Redlegs to finish third this season. He must has have seen about as much SANFL football as I have done lately.

Our 'performance' stands out like a sore thumb in round one. We are the only club that was not competitive in our first hit out. :(

Take no notice Fes...life must get very difficult for a self-confessed Matt LeBlanc look alike when the two teams you've joined as a member play each other
