Who are the Brookers playing first round? Hopefully get a big crowd at Houghton for that, I know there'll be several of us lads there to adopt you as our team for the day.

Kersbrook play neighbouring rival Gumeracha at Houghton this Saturday (Round 1). Apparenlty Gums have a few West Croydon recuits. Be aware gents, if you venture to Houghton there will be a small fee to pay at the gate, as it's still a registered HFL game. Good to hear the Heccy blokes confirm that the Brookers are still stronger than Birdwood.

y is the match at a neutral ground??? with the west croydon recruits herd the same but a few weeks ago apparently they were training back at west croydon?? havent heard nymore since then

Alleged salinity problems with Kersbrook oval leaving it void of grass I believe, I'll leave it to Cougar to correct me or elaborate. They have been training at Houghton all year and will play their first two home games at our ground. Not sure where they are playing after that, Lyndoch maybe??

Kersbrook smashed Hope Valley by 20 goals a couple of years back, and Hectorville put up more of a fight.

So are you saying Hectorville will be a better side than Hope Valley this year based on that trial game result 3 years ago?

What was the final score in the Houghton v Greenacres trial yesterday? We had a bet going with one of the Hectorville boys

Thoughts on St Pauls??
I watched first half and you guys i thought should have been up by bit more at half time
Had all the play but didnt capatilize
Number 24 (forward) seemed to like the U turn a fair bit when should have given off

You guys looked ok but think would need bit more polish to go up
I know it early and only trial just saying as observer

Not sure who you guys had in/out, but I thought there was no forward structure when the ball did find it's way down there. Blokes would just sorta jogged backwards with there hands in the air calling for the ball. Obviously they're gonna miss you and I don't think Ivan was running around out there, so it's really hard to say. I'm sure crusty found some positives even though it was a 20 goal loss.

We've still got plenty of work to do and a number of first choice players to come into that side, so improvement on that performance will come. The boys might have looked a bit flat in the first half, they did train before the game though in their defence!

Good full forwards rarely give off anyway, and he did finish with 6. But I'll pass on your observation to him anyway!

To be honest, I don't remember the score, was rather busy taking in the coaching aspect of the game. Greenacres had a big third term though, margin blown out a bit by the end of the game.

Yes they struggled but good thing they couldnt get much worse
not sure if they have anyone to come back
i did see some new faces i never seen though but talent was missing
Apparently they have not done much training in the way of competiveness so maybe thats an excuse.

The only reason i say bout 24 is that he missed some easy ones with the kick around corner
and sorry mate but to me the good full forwards are ones that kick goals but play in a team enviroment and bring other players in when needed
not all bout glamour and goals
Some like to say Arrogant, I like to say confident.

Well since that trial against Hope Valley, it would be fair to say the Valleys haven't improved that much looking at their results. And based on Saturdays trial, playing against an improved Kersbrook than that of a couple of years ago, Hectorville should be too strong for the Valleys and would think give Div 6 a good showing.

They are definitely the two sides who will set the bar and whom everyone will want to beat. From my observations so far I couldn't split 'em with an arse hair.

Fair call. If you think that finishing 9th in 2006 and then 4th in 2007 isn't improving, then you're far more astute than me! I might even take what you've said seriouly if you'd seen our side play in 2008, but you're basing your judgement on a trial game a few years ago and results that must read differently up in the hills. There's no doubt heccies are the team to beat in 08, but to say we haven't improved since you played us is an uneducated comment
