Chris Stacey leaving Freeling
Still no news on any Freeling gains

Anyone want to have a crack at a ladder?

Barossa
Tanunda
Kapunda
Centrals
Freeling
South
Willaston
Angaston
Nuriootpa

I'll have a crack Brad man...

Barossa - cant see anyone getting close
Freeling - will surely have to still be around the mark
Tanunda - quality midfield to see them through
South - has the time come for the lions to finally do something
Willaston - much the same as last year, around the mark
Kapunda - i can see teams going past them
Centrals - have not quite covered their losses this year (IMO)
Angaston - a couple of old faces returning, should win a few more games
Nuri - this club is going backwards

Texas Rattlesnake have South Gawler recruited some guns for 2008 ? You have predicted they will play in the finals .....

Bevis would be the only player capable of making it at A1 standard , mail from a very reliable source is they will be the first of the gawler clubs to fold .

Hafey, they have picked up a couple of guys from West Adelaide as well as Anton Gerardis ex Gaza, Ardrossan as well as a few good kids coming through...

Agree with Bevis - probably should still be at a league club and i cannot comment on the folding suggestion as i wouldnt know...

Doubt that Hafey, they still have plenty of funds to throw around...

Recruited Matthew Lutze and Aaron Bayliss from West Adelaide, as well as Anton Gerardis (Ardrossan/Gaza/Salisbury North), although they did lose Prokopec back to Whyalla though as he teaches up there.
EDIT: Beat me to it TR..

For what it's worth, my ladder:

Barossa
Tanunda
Freeling
Willaston

South Gawler
Kapunda
Angaston
Gawler Central

you can also add a fully fit Anthony Johnston to that list for South - Prokopec will hurt unless Gerardis can kick a few

He is a very good footballer in my opinion, if he's fit you've done really well. Knows how to find the ball and his disposal is usually pretty good. Has had a lot of hamstring problems in the past though, which usually tend to come up at some stage. But when he's fit he's a very good player.

IMO - Rimmer can play. Has, and probably still will, let the drink get the better of him, but a quality midfielder who will go some way to replacing the loss of Hollitt to North Clare. I suggest he would be an outside chance for the medal out there if he can keep his nose clean.

Good luck to Christian, I know him pretty well and I think the change of environment will be an unbelievably good thing for his football. If he can ease back on the drink will get 30 touches of the footy weekly.

Good stuff, he played very well in yesterdays trial against Nurioopta, certainly looks a classs player. I reckon Nuri might struggle a bit this year though, Mallala trialled against them last year and they were far more competitive, time will tell.

I watched the trial, Freeling V Uradilia yesterday apart from both side having the same socks and short, with Freeling turning its jumpers inside out to avoid the clash it was a hit out both side would be happy with, a new guy Luke Copley looked a good get, played mainly CHF and a little in the ruck, carry a few KG but kicked a nice goal from outside 50.

Heard Aganston beat Birdwood by 6 goal, any other trial games details

South Gawler played Mannum on Saturday. Very disappointing result for the lions - they went down by 13 goals. I suggest this does not bode well for their season... a lack of height was very telling apparently.

Apparently Gawler Centrals were well beaten by Modbury on the weekend. Mallala also ran all over Nuri... they are my early pick for the wooden spoon... especially if the Cragg-Sappsford deal cannot be done.

13 goals by Mannum ?? wow hasnt the wheels fallen off this comp , Mallala beating Nuri and Modbury smashing Centrals .

The texas rattlesnake was pumping up Gawler Souths tyres last week predicting a finals finish.
