WAFC LIFE MEMBER

Postby Mark_Beswick » Fri Mar 28, 2008 7:55 pm

Hi all,

I have just completed the WAFC honour board from 1898-2007 for their Life-Members. I have every life-members FULL NAME and DOD where applicable Except ONE

1976 J. Conlon (Club Auditor). Does anyone know his name. I have narrowed my search to two people and at least one is deceased. I need a relative or a christian name to narrow my search.

West Adelaide have 232 Life-Members so to miss one out before the club publishes it to an honour board would be a shame.

Thanks to anyone who can assist

First step would be the General Manager at the time or someone in club administration or the club accountants back then, even to narrow down the search.
30 years ago the name Douglas Thomas comes to mind ( apologies my joke )
At a glance Im not sure that there are only two possibilities

Have tried Doug and other life members (only two alive from that year of issue who were officials - Also tried the auditords and accountancy society who claim their records do not go back that far.

I plan to try the Sans and McDougalls directories for J. Conlns in 1970 and then match the address of J. Conlons with electoral rolls. Then If I can narow down to one or two, check for relatives living at the same addresses.

I have a john austin conlon who died 2007 and I hope to find some names in the death notices and see if family members are named there.

I am just running out of time before the honour board is printed and hung in the changerooms.

Thanks for the time and suggestions though!

Regards
Mark
