Apparently the ICC is moving towards a zero tolerance crackdown on sledging in International cricket.
A letter was sent to all international match officials, captains and chief executives calling for their support of their stance.
This is not to be confused with racist remarks which is a separate issue altogether. It is referring to remarks that in the words of the ICC are "..obscene, offensive or insulting.."
Aussie bowler Stuart Clark came out and said such a move would make the game boring.
"Put it this way. It's going to be very boring for six hours if yu can't talk to one another or do anything like that" Clark said.
But he did support the eradication of racist remarks from the game.
I think the ICC's move is pretty reasonable. Banter and funny comments are one thing but obscene, offensive remarks are another thing altogether.
