I will agree that in 2006, the side was unbeatable and anyone could have coached us to a flag.

But in 2007, the side wasn't performing that well, and grainger sorted us out come finals time and got us playing some really good football.
What pearls of wisdom did he offer to produce such a remarkable turn around?

geez boys we're being a bit harsh on grainge arent we? True he didnt have to do much to get the devs over the line in both the premiership years but he still did the best he could! His gameday preparation was 2nd to none, he had solid information on most players from the opposition and he always had a solid gameplan. I thought Grainger treated the players with respect and was open to new ideas such as giving younger blokes a go. Not too many A grade coaches would be running the boundry for the under 17s at their local club to scout out any potential A grade players. I think he deserves a bit more respect than most are giving him on this site.

With Weatherald retiring from Sturt, presumably he'll play in the Hills, what was his original club?

Spot on M80. That would be an awesome pick up for the Raiders. Hopefully he can help get them competitive again. (Not too competitive though  )

I guess nothing would be definite there, but given he'd be worth minimal points to Bridgewater, you'd imagine they'd offer him big $$'s.

Anyone know how the umpiring is looking this year? Last year it was getting ridiculous in the B grade, club umpires tried hard but problems were always going to arise.

I see they have a new coach, hopefully the standard and numbers increase.

mt barker look in great form this year, my club from the gsfl played them a couple of sat ago in a 5 qaurter trial and their A grade when all on the park were great to watch. Scott Byrt will cause some trouble in the ruck and across centre half foward where he took about 15 contested marks, just to strong and tall when the arms are up. Leith Marston back from flaggys and interstate looked good, played 2 qaurters but quick off the first 10 metres in a lead and a big bulky guy, hard to defend, think he kicked 4 or 5.

maybe mt barker are heading back to their 2003,2004 seasons when they dominated

Can't see umpiring changing too much. New coach said at a meeting with clubs he hoped to cover B Grade but will believe it when it happens. Been seeing the same faces at trial games, just another year older! Don't know how they are going to change it.
