Sometimes we even got 2 bats in one day in para districts. Was a joke in the end but we dont make the rules. I do not think 38 is to hot at all but i have covered that before. Poor North eastern nights lost both finals because of the rule. If Betanias B grade won after our forfeit it is a joke

I agree that 38 isn't too hot - we were one of the few clubs who voted against the change. It wouldn't have been that bad at all on Saturday with the cloud cover around. I wonder if the association is now having second thoughts...

As for the Betania forfeit - it is a joke, but not unexpected since the two Betania teams are hardly connected at all. The Betania "B"s are really just the old Marion Church of Christ team - they kept basically all their old players but changed their name to Betania B so they could share facilities with Betania, I believe.

Always got along well with the old Marion team. cant say the same for Betaina A grade. Two forfeit a final is a joke. Last time we played them we didnt lose a wicket chasing there total. surely the comp has to look at the 38 rule. people play good money to play and to miss as much cricket as we did this season is a joke. I used to play for croydon

the league should really change the amount of 2 day matches to more 1 day games, this will have a few effects, it will mean we have a better chance of playing more games, as some teams could play one week but couldnt play the 2nd week of a 2 day game, also the National Championships are next season, these games are play as one day games, to ensure that the players selected to play in this championship and to compete shouldnt they get accustomed to playing one day games (40 or 50 over matches), rather than getting used to playing 2 game matches. Its a bit of a different game from a 2 day match to a 40 over match..... to play only 2 one day games throughout the year is not the way to prepare to play in these championship tournaments.

thoughts??

Judging from the mood at the last few association meetings, and knowing that some clubs are already discussing proposals to increase the number of one-day games next season, I would be highly surprised if there was not a substantial increase in one-day games for next season.

I am undecided on this topic. I always want to play cricket, but there has to be a heat policy at some stage, it is a duty of care.
