Simply Footy

Postby hearts on fire » Sun Mar 16, 2008 10:45 pm

Yes, i have created another thread about a football show!

anyway, out of footy classified, the footy show and this show, i would have to say this is the worst.

i don't like the whole set-up of it and i do not like the hosts, Corey Wingard and Ian Shuttleworth.

i have also noticed every time in the highlights and magic moments its always about the crows and they hardly show the power.

it is also in a shocking timeslot which contributes to its poorness.

it may sound like im whining but its so true!

what are your opinions?

You expect that from a Port supporter. Haven't won a SANFL flag since 1999, or an AFL flag since 2004.

One bit that is poor is that Ian Shuttleworth does his segment from "the newsroom", clearly his part is pre recorded, otherwise he'd be in the studio with Corey Wingard.

I have seen it occasionally and I don't notice any bias towards the Crows, it seems an even spread. Anyway, it's not a very good show.. only good for the SANFL flashbacks as mentioned above. Sometimes they also have past SANFL champs on there too.

I'd love to know what they think they can gain from having this show in that particular time slot!

I think they're relying on boosting their ratings by having it immediately prior to ch 10's AFL coverage, although i'd say most viewers would probably be watching the ABC sanfl coverage.

Either that or if there's a match on Foxtel, or in my case, going to the footy. I'd watch it just for the old SANFL highlights, mind you. ;)

I'm quite the same there actually, quite often i tape it and just fast forward it to the old highlights and just watch that, quite often the only thing worth watching.

Watched the GF Simply Footy episode which i taped. Disappointing, quite a large portion of the show appeared to be a repeat of stories they had on Ch 10 News throughout the week.

Bloody awful show.....very forced hosts on there. They try too hard.....plus as a non South Australian supporter (Hawthorn) it would be nice if other clubs were featured. Cringeworthy stuff....
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Yes I have watched it. Maybe stop watching it through rose coloured glasses.

Would like to watch it but given is clashes with SANFL duties can't

There is certainly a need for a SANFL TV show outside of the game day telecast, but after Total SANFL fell over at C31 it will require some creativity to make happen.

To be honest Channel 31 is a bit of a waste of time IMHO.For me I cant tune it into my tv due to foxtel .Unplug fox and yep can get it .
And to be honest the wrestling that was on Channel 31 wasn't worth watching and the fishing shows are all on Aurora a community channel on fox.
Hell Aurora used to do NSWAFL pity we couldn't do a SANFL show on it .
