Looks like another club ready to poach a struggling clubs good players by offering $$$. I heard B/Water were paying locals, is that right?

howard i think it's fantastic the raiders are paying locals if that's true. i'm sure their not the only club. your locals should be looked after because they are the heart of the club.

I agree, most of the guys there have battled away for ages, tough work when other clubs keep poaching their best players for $$$. If they had those guys back at the club they would probably be far more competitive.

Has anyone heard how that joke of an ex-coach from Mt Lofty has been received down at West Adelaide so far?. My mail is he's a little out of his depth and is already giving Andy Collins the shits with lame arse ideas that would be out coached in a mini league game let alone a league environment.

What exactly made Grainger so unpopular? Not trying to stir anything just an interested observer........as an outsider you would think he wasn't the worst going around with 2 flags and now a reserves job.......

Mount Lofty went down to Modbury by a goal on saturday night's A grade trial. Very poor first half by the devils saw them 6-7 goals down at the main break. Many skill errors and poor decisions helped make Modbury look good. Second half was completely different as Mount lofty started to run and carry and lead Modbury to the ball. They also started to take a few grabs down forward and convert. Overall Mount Lofty should be happy with the outing, I counted I think twelve A' graders missing from the team so they would be pleased with the performances of the youngsters who stepped up.

Ha Ha that's pretty funny. A few of Modbury's footballers play cricket for Kersbrook's A2 Grade which won the flag that Saturday arvo. After their big win, and with plenty of time before the trial began, the Hawk Boys decided to celebrate their Grand Final win with a couple of ales. Sounds like some of the Devil Boys might have been put off by the breath of their opponents Saturday night. Would have been very interesting to see how Modbury's Full Forward Kicked at goal Saturday Night after kicking off the celebrations earlier in the day!

Yeah I think a couple didn't play at all and 3 or 4 A'graders played B's, probably so they could finish early and resume hitting the piss.

To put it simply he was just terrible in all facets of coaching. No techinical know-how and zero people management skills. My grandma could have coached that team to 2 flags, and she's not even alive

In all fairness to the bloke, you still have to have something to be a back to back premiership coach.
I will agree that in 2006, the side was unbeatable and anyone could have coached us to a flag.

But in 2007, the side wasn't performing that well, and grainger sorted us out come finals time and got us playing some really good football.
