Danny Ryan was taught how to play football at Salisbury, he then played footy at Port and North before he heard of Kilburn.

Whilst there influence on him is great, the years before he got there can't be discounted.

His old man's bl00dy hilarious too.

Apologies, had forgotten he stopped at Kilburn on his way to North.

My previous point stands though, can't discount where he came from. We'll be hearing about Kilburn's own Adrian Wilson soon.

Going back through the years a bit but a guy named Tony Laintoll was named by Aldo Floreani as the best ever player in South Australia not to have come down to Adelaide to play in the SANFL. Won a few Mail medals.
Cheers

Played with a few guys at Eastern Park a few years ago who I reckon were pretty good. a guy named Carey Payne, small goal kicking on baller / half forward. Think Payney was on Centrals list but didn't play any games, now coaching E.Park I think ?

Then there was a big, tall, skinny ruckman/forward named Corey Noble, very gutsy player, great team man, top bloke...

Also, Mathew Paul (won D3 Medal I think) hap a great leap, good set of hands and could finsih off in fornt of goal.

Big Phil... :D :D :D

Some flash backs there Wattle - Ive heard Scotty Darrington is going around AGAIN and maybe clocking up 450 !!! He was a quality player and a good bloke ( probably still is )
I remember watching at Districts one game and Philcox took the biggest SKREEEMER Ive ever seen playing for Kilburn ( '93') I recon .
And Klomp , I recon he Kicked 100 plus again last year.
Some more Dasha Wilson -Pooraka , Wormald -Henley and Kempy - Broadies.

Klompy only looks good cos he chooses to play at levels below his own capabilities.

Scott Darrington will be lucky to play much footy this year with work/age etc.. he is currently sitting on 392 games.

If anyone from PNU should have played league it would be either Tyson Burrows or Todd Patfull.

Todd is every bit as talented as his brother (Joel - Brisbane) just friggin lazy.

Tyson - self explanatory.

Garry McIntosh should have played too... oh.. he did

You have got to be kidding Big Phil, played against all 3 and none of them would have made a SANFL side.

fair enough Wattle but this was about who should have played SANFL. Kim Klomp is/was not good enough to play SANFL because he played in teams that made him look good. Fair enough he liked to play with his mates, but plotting to keep your mates playing in a lower grade and not playing A grade when asked works to the detriment of a club. Do you really need blokes like that playing?

According to my records Felch, he did play in the GF side in 2000.

In 2004 (our crap year).he played 5 games with the club before he was cleared to Ovingham.. part of which was to do with him spitting the dummy because the A grade was struggling, he wouldn't play A grade and bitched and whinged when we tried to promote players from "his" C grade team.

I can count on 2 fingers the A grade games he played after the 2000 GF and he barely got a kick on those occasions from memory.

Falcon Chick , if you were around the club in the 1988-9 , 1990-3 ( which I know you might have been although young ) I can tell you scotty could easily have played league ( remembering that was before AFL drained the SANFL of its best 40-60 players) Him and Clarke were GUNS.

And Wattle, Im waiting your responce ....

back then I was around the club from time to time but as a kid running around watching my uncle play!

Scotty could easily have played SANFL and was asked to play with Westies. I can't remember the exact story but it had something to do with Doug Thomas declining to compensate Scott for the money he was losing by missing work or something like that and he told them to get stuffed.

Geoff Clarke was a goal machine, just missed out on a couple of SAFA medals too I believe. He was just winding down in the B grade when I started at PNU as an official. Him and Freddy Campbell like to boot a few goals..
