Have heard from a number of Kangy's boys that the reason they pulled the pin on the trial was Stringer didnt believe they were "ready" and the lack of numbers comment was merely an excuse to get them out of it.

I would love to know of any team who's "ready" for their first trial game. Isnt that the whole point of trial games.. to get your team "ready" for round one

Ballhog, I have heard that onkas have had good numbers out to training. I know Stevie Tanner and Chris Shee pretty well and they both say that they have plenty of numbers. I do know they were training in November. Mainly weights etc with a small group.

Good to hear about the Devlies, and better to see that Matty Stapes shuolder is better! That man amazes me. Never seen a bloke put more beef on and drink moer piss, then comes out to training and shed it in two weeks and then dominate games of football. He is the best half back flanker in the league by a country mile!

I'd have Matt Stapleton in my side before Paul Richards. That's not to say Pucker isn't a gun, Stapes is just a machine! And only 22, hasn't peaked yet!

Anymore word on whether all of Hahndorf's recruits have eventuated? Are they all on the track?

Yes Pucker is a gun. He is one of the best defenders in the comp.

But never plays at Half Back flank. The two players a different players all together. Stapes is a running rebound hard nut type player. Where as pucker is a player who plays tall and has a freakish ability to take grabs from anywhere. he is more of a mop up type player that reads the ball very well.

Both guns and both good backmans but different players all together.

Would have them both in my side anyday and is no wonder why they both line up for the Hills in the Association side.

brings me to a next point. Now that everyone has seen the draw for this year.

Do you think there will be the same debacle that was the association game last year. Alot of players from all the top sides didn't play as it was the only erst they had for the year......

If you choose to play interleague, you will play 13 straight games then get a rest....

The old inter-league debate- if Birdwood weren't put up to central we'd still have the bye and if that were the case, I for one would be keen to run around for the league. But we don't, so I'm not. And trigalo16, I'm good mates with the bloke you are posing as so you should probably rethink your alias. Trigger's grammar is much better than yours and he already posts on this forum using a different name. If I'm wrong, then g'day Trig and get back to work building nuclear missile silos in the middle east/updating your facebook site.

Paul Richards is a good fullback for all Zone carnivals. Tough and reliable and yes does take the floating grabs.

As for Trigs he is a well educated man and i have noticed he spends a lot of time on facebook, probably because i have been also

Who will challenge the Devils in 08? Winning the 20/20 comp at Happy Valley would give them a boost in confidence after some key player losses over the summer.

BJ I think plenty of teams will challenge Mt Lofty but I think they will sneak into the top three. Obviously Hahndorf will be much improved and Uraidla and Onkas are always up there. Ironbank will also be very competitive this year with a bunch of quality youngsters who have a couple of years of A Grade behind them. Anyone know how Blackwood have recruited?
Looking forward to Devils v Uraidla round 1, should be a cracker

I don't read much into that 20/20 comp. For one most teams play half their A grade side and the rest is made up of youngsters and aspiring B graders. I think the Devils will have their work cut out for them more so this year. There's a lot of clubs on the rise and I think Lofty have already risen. Not writing them off... don't get me wrong but the task will be much harder. It will show what type of character Lofty has as a club.

We will have to wait and see, it will be tough to back up again after losing some key players but there are plenty of good youngsters who will have a good crack.

heheehe, yeah maybe the towel heads have done something to my grammar! Or the fact that I rush onto this site at work! See there is not much more to do over here then, drink, go to the gym, drink, get on facebook, drink. hmmm, doesn't help when I can't even run or anything yet with this stupid knee!

I am looking forward to see what is going to happen early this year. the 20/20 means nothing. The other teams would have been underdone as well. It does instill confidence when you win trial games, but everyone knows it means nothing. The greatest thing about the 20/20 format is that it does give young kids an opportunity to step up and taste some better footy. It also gives new players to the club an understanding of how different hills football is. And prob most important, gives coaches a look at some of the players to see if they are ready to make the step.

I reckon the top 4 will be very close. It doesn't matter where you finish this year. As long as you make the top 5 your in for a good chance.

My mail is that Edwardstown were close to full strength for the final. Not confirmed, but still, it shocked a few of the guys down there, they all thought the HFL std was pretty low
