Good summary SH of the Lofty V Edwardstown game...

Anybody know how close to full strength Edwardstown were on Friday night?

Did both sides play depleated squads in the end? What was the standard like?

Since Mex you usually write sensibly, I would be interested to read your honest comments on the match.

PS. Chucks my good friend, did you get a touch?

Thanks IP, but was at a good mates wedding so missed out on the game.

The match was a good one. The intensity was fairly high and for a first trial i can assure you Hilly and Barry were very happy with what happened. Result aside the blooding of some quality young kids happened at Noarlunga. A couple of younger players for Morphett Vale will go a long way with footy if they so desire as they were hard at it and quick with some polish.

The older players were good as usual for Morphies with Polly providing a good target up front, Early patrolling the wing as he always does and a couple of other guys (sorry names escape me) showing the way for the younger players.

Morphies are a proud bunch and would be upset they lost but really in the end its a trial and they would have been very happy with what they saw from not only there senior players but these youngsters too. They will have a strong season once again!

Yeah the compulsory meeting was to get behind there major sponsor Wendy Higgins I asked around for all you people that were very "concerned".....
How did Bomber Ryan go for Willunga...Did he kick many???
And spoke to the senior players that ARE training at Cove and they are all very positive about SIZE.... I reckon you might find the players that arent training and just going on rumour are the ones complaining...From what I hear he trains twice a week.... so as much as most players from other clubs...

Thats nothin negative interpreted,I just think a genuine top 3 SAAFL div 2 side no matter what time of the year would accomidate for a hills top 3 side.If those in the hills or surroundings want to take offence then do so,but ive seen all standards and thats my point of view.Hills still a great comp tho.

Big call there LK, although generally speaking i would say you'd be around the mark. Lofty's premiership side from last year though has been touted as the best ever team fielded within the HFL. This year they've lost 5 of there top 7 to 9 players but will still be challenging for the flag, i guess that gives an indication of the depth.
Div 2 no doubt is a more solid comp across the board, as compared to the hills comp which has 2 or 3 good sides and then it falls of pretty quickly after that. Havings said that, the side Lofty had last year was something else and would have taken it to most Div 2 sides, i have no doubt.

Seriously LR you know what i think of your posts and your most recent postings certainly have you up there with old mate ZC, but this is a footy forum isn't it... With any luck we won't be hearing too much from you but lets keep it to footy hey instead of hiding behind your keyboard and sending out the occaisional personalised pot shot. If you have a genuine posting which you feel may contribute to this forum post it, otherwise keep you personal attacks to yourself...

Good call Mex,
After all we are close to the start of 08 I'm sure there can be more constructive comments than that. Maybe you don't even play senior footy LR thats why you could make these calls and not worry because maybe your a bit younger than we all think and know you wont be facing some of these guys in here?

Either way no need for it.
