Let me assure you the donut machine got a good workout* from this little black duck.

What I used to do is put Chocolate AND Vanilla icecream in the middle of 3 piled up donuts (this is not separate icecream but choc and vanilla in ONE!) =P~ =P~ :tonqe:

A supurb dessert.

 :D When I do the tour can we go there please

Absolutely!

The ice-cream and donuts and the PRAWNS. (not together) There's your $25 worth just there!

The Empire on Prospect Rd used to have an awesome set-up. Buffet with An Australian Bar, American Bar, Chinese/Asian Bar and English Bar. Was like doing a contiki tour while having dinner. Food was good too but I don't know if it's still there or just a normal bistro now?

So you were obliged to drink to excess, scream "Aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi" while dancing on the tables, then shag the nearest waitress?

Yep, it's called the Watermark now, I recommend it; big range and yummy.

The Empire; never heard of it, shall try to check it out.

I heard the Walker's Arms burned down late last year. Is it up and running again, or dead as a dodo now?

Nope still not open, there's no signage to say when they'll be open for business again either.

the Pub will be bulldozed, & a bigger "better" pokie palace, I mean pub will be built on the site, including the neighbouring Trophy Shop/Tyre place/vet.
The vet has already moved, but I believe the trophy shop are not keen on moving.

Ring first. I heard they scrapped buffet when new owners came in a couple of years ago.

It was the Blair Athol Hotel on Prospect Road

After a couple of recent visits to that vet, I believe that my wife and I paid their moving expenses. Aren't we good people?

Went to the Buckingham today for lunch, and the donut machine is definitely still there - gave it a bit of a workout!

Empire seems like it's back off the list again.

Hmmm... there must be a few other buffet style places out there...

Hi Sploosh

Civic Park Family Restaurant at Modbury (cross the road from Tea Tree Plaza) is my pick at the moment. It has a really decent buffet (roasts, chinese, soups, seafood, lovely individual deserts/ice-cream and my dh's fave the personal steamboat on the table with its own buffet of raw delights for a couple of bucks extra) I know it's location is probably not right for you but a really good value joint none the less.
RIP my DH 1964 - 2009 - You were one of the best and I miss you
