back in the 80'/90's it was the in thing to be seen at the basketball

now the A League has taken that mantle..

its time for the NBL to re invent itself or it will end up like the old baseball national league we had in the 90's

It was different with the Baseball because it got bought by an Aussie playing in the major leagues, he did nothing with it, finally changed if from a league to a couple week a year Claxton Shield, held off the first Claxton Shield for 18 months after announcing it would be bought back, and everyone lost interest in it.

Dont think he was pushed, he apparently lost his enthusiasm & desire for two weeks so he chased his media dream with channel 7 & radio, then he found that wasn't going to be as easy as first thought, so he found that renewed enthusiasm & desire in (2wks) to lodge his application with the 36ers. He may have thought he wouldn't of have to re-apply & just be reappointed?
Now he finds himself 3rd in line & maybe with regrets.
The Julius Hodge blackmail saga of " i will only play under Smyth", was this Smyth's sweet talking to the players to help get his job back?
Time will tell i guess!

Talk is that Ninnis has the job. Will be interesting to see how he goes if true - everyone I know in basketball circles think he will do a great job.
