More support on the heel. stops jaring etc.
Notice ASICS have gel in the heel?
Same thing, i believe in it.

Puma "Cells" were the best I've worn. Comfort of a sandshoe with the traction of a footy boot. But I agree with someone's earlier post. Its difficult to find black boots these days! I give permission for anyone to put me in hospital with a big shirt front the day i wear white boots!

Have two pairs of boots.
Asics Gel lethal ultimate
Nomis Sparks. Both very comfortable boots.
This season will use the Nomis,s and will buy a pair of the new Asics LETHAL TIGREOR IT. Raised heel will help my old bones!

i usually have two pairs of boots (puma king screw ins and Nike for my Moulds) but last year i swapped the nikes for puma moulds which broke in round 7 or 8 then i had a pair of nikes that broke 3 weeks after getting them so i resorted to my screw ins for the rest of the year which ive had for 3-4 years, so the best boot to have is Puma Kings because of the thicker materials they use,

with out a doubt Adidas Copa Mundial if you look after them have stood the test of time
I have used them since 1985 and still have a pair of copa's from the early 90's. You need to buy the german made one's and not the cheaper Indonesian boots. Tigreor from Asics are a good option at around the $200 mark. If you pay under $150 for boots don't expect them to last too long!!!

Boots have come a long way from when i first started playing footy back in the 60's...i had a pair similar to the pic below called Blue star. Made of real leather, a hard toe cap, layered hard leather sprigs that were nailed in so the umps always lined us up for a sprig test before the game. Try running around in those on a wet day. :D Mind you, they lasted for years. And no broken toes in those days. :D

If any of you boys that wear Asics Lethals that want screw ins, Asics actually do a version with the blade style pattern but with added screw ins for extra grip, so should meet your standards. I personally couldn't wear them as I got plenty of blisters from Asics, although they were a comfortable boot under the foot.
Also I found that you don't get the same feel off the boot when kicking as a standard boot. So I just stopped kicking the ball.....
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

I agree Migical Footy... =D>

Asics are the best boots I've EVER worn... :D

I've got a pair of screw ins, the old, low moulded souls and two pair of the newer "grass cats" moulded. Have had 3 par for the last 4 years and as long as you look after them, they stay good.

My newest pair (the yellow moulded ones) are okay confort wise but the "moulding" isn't as high as my older ones so they aren't great in wet, muddy conditions. The screw ins are great for that.

BIG PHIL... :D :D :D

Just got a pair of the Tigreors and they are pretty comfortable. Will still wair the old gels when the ground is hard though I reckon. Diasppointed about the choice of colours though. Only white or bright blue. No black.

What does everyone look for in size? I reckon they almost have to be a bit too small when you get them for them to end up as good boots.
Don't be scared. Now is not the time!

I spent $195 on a pair of Asics last week- but they were a necessary evil, as I have the flattest feet on earth
