Mmmmmm I've heard that's one worth watching from a few people and I think I'm about to start reading about it too as the next chapter in my copy of 'Men of Norwood' starts with Michael Taylor.

Just re-watched the '78GF clip on Redlegstv again...take it he's the no15 that looks like he'd snap in half if the wind changed direction

I had guessed that you'd either married a Norwood supporter or you had thrown a dart at a spinning globe and it had stuck in Adelaide.
I managed to convert a Yank to Aussie rules by having a few kicks at the local park here in Japan. But that dude was already a big sports freak. He used to sit in front of his big screen satellite TV, screaming with joy when his Grid Iron team scored a touch down. Didn't go down well with his neighbours as this happened at all hours and it was an appartment block with poor sound insulation. But I am glad to hear that a sports lover like yourself could get enthused about Aussie Rules purely from listening to the tall stories of ex-pat Aussies.

Having grown up with rugby it wasn't too great a leap to appreciate footy. The worst part was some of the terminology for example a ruck in footy is in the air...in rugby it's on the ground Chatting got me interested in footy but listening and chatting to you guys and the online radio really got me into it...so you've only got yourselves to blame

Ewwwwww....wash your mouth out Nah never got a liking for soccer/association footy. Nobody at home ever really liked it much as dad played rugby, cricket and later golf at a pretty serious amateur level. Although as kids dad took us to Portman Road a few times to watch Ipswich (our local) in the '70s but didn't think much of it. I suppose if I did, the local team here would be Cale Thistle (Inverness) but I really can't stand the sectarian side to Scottish soccer...thats one thing that doesn't exist in Irish rugby...the teams have players from both sides

Yes I confess to being a sad 5aa adict now. Only started listening to get some extra footy news from KG and Thingy but then got hooked on the other shows, Sean Perry's is probably my favourite now. We don't seem to get anything like it here...cracking mix of people phoning in...some really funny, some bloody annoying, some really interesting and some you wouldn't want to meet unless they were heavily sedated

hehehehehe yep I agree JAS - I am a 5AA Tragic and Sean Perry is my latest fave too... pity he's now only on Sunday for 6 hours... I find Geoff Burzacott OK but defiintely now as full on as Sean Perry. My fave regular is Mary from Ardrossan - what a scream - woo hoo

I'll own up the choice of GF was very very very deliberate.

I'm sure I've said this before on the site. The 78 Sturt side was 6 goals better than the second best team that year (which wasn't us), but I'm not handing that title back.

Yeah but if those six goals turn out to be points then all of a sudden it's Des Foster's fault. Adamson was fantastic in that game but my hero before Aish was Micheal Taylor.
