Great performance by the mighty Eags yesterday - highest minor round score in the club's history. Herb was in great form, 118 off 85 balls (including 112 in 91 minutes after lunch). All the top five made 50 plus. Admittedly, it was a great toss to win. Salisbury was an absolute road.
Cheers

I should perhaps add that we ended up making 447 (including 185 in the middle session and 150 in the final session).

What was the team score when Bunse and Jughead had that massive partnership out at Adelaide No 2 against Glenelg (?) about 8 or so years ago? Rocka would have been having a field day updating all the record books!
Pity they couldn't follow it up in the One Day Comp yesterday. On that note, a lot of teams struggled - you would have thought it had poured with rain all Saturday night - Woodville out for 50 odd, most other scores between 140 - 180 and the highest score for the round was about 210 - indicative of SA's batting woes at all levels perhaps?

I don't have the score in front of me but I believe it was in the vicinity of 390. Although we may not have batted as freely in the one-day game on Saturday, we did at least manage a win.

Just wondering if West Torrens achieved the biggest outright win ever in Grade cricket on the weekend: a win over Northern Districts by an innings and 195 runs. This involved scoring 447 off 95.2 overs on the first day and then bowling the Jets out for 93 and 159 on the second.

Wicket fall to pieces or do Noortherns need to merge with another side? ;)

The wicket was still a road but Northern's were up against the best bowling attack in South Australia.

Did anyone go to the final of the 20/20 last night at Glenelg Oval? Glenelg vs TTG. Keen to hear who won and how the match went.

TTG beat Glenelg by 6 runs, not a bad game with ony 1 hit in it.

Good to see the mighty West Torrens become Club Champion for the third time in four seasons. All four grades finished either first or second at the end of the minor round - now to just convert that into some premierships!

Four outright wins for the mighty Eagles yesterday.

Supposedly never happened before in grade cricket according to club historian Dennis 'Rocka' Brien

I'd also heard it's the first time all 4 grades have won outright in the same round.

Bad luck to the bays boys once again ... so close ... yet so far

Additionally, the mighty Eags also have their team in the finals in all Senior grades and three of the four junior grades.

How did the West Torrens bloke get on at the Tribunal. Apparently has played a bit in the A's and was given out in the B Grade Caught and started to walk and the Called the Umpire a F---en Cheat.

What was this bloke thinging no matter what grade he got picked in he was going to play finals. That may not be the case now.

He did not call the umpire a cheat, but the player who claimed the 'grassed' catch. He also did not swear. The umpire said that he would have got off if he had said anything but the word cheat. Have not heard the outcome of the case yet though.

Would this blokes initials happen to be DB?
If so, as much as i love the bloke, he has been a hothead for years and not the first time he has been hauled in front of the tribunal. Lets hope the SACA panel have a bit more sense than the ATCA equivalent....

The initials are one of those stated above. I have been involved in over 150 matches with this player and he certainly cannot be described as a hothead. His behavious has almost always been exemplary on and off the field.
