Or even better scores are tied after final siren, only to find the score board attendants failed to register a behind in the final qtr to Jervois.
Final score Jervois 15.10 to Imps 15.9

got the standard tonight and the mypo write up was interesting. seems as though they havnt lost many and have gained "4 A graders" plus joel eckerman back into the squad (broken leg last year) but dont mention any names. Dalwood mainly talks his normal sh*t and goes on about joe pedler and that mypo need him to go any good this year. It isnt clear in the article if he is coming or not so time will tell i guess. They are aiming for a top 3 finish (obviously) so will be interesting to see if the tigers can do it.

mannum write up next week so well wait and see who they have picked up.

Smelty is a loss isn't he?? i've heard he may not be at Mypo, although obviously getting into mid 30's so not as effective as 10 years ago. Still a reasonable player, and apparently had a fairly good year in 07.

am unsure about smelty. each week you hear something different. i dont think he has been spotted out at training but as you say, he is getting on a bit. he obviously never made the move out to Karoonda and he never got a mention in the tailem write up so who knows?
how many goals did he kick last year? did he get over 50?

Yeah i heard that, will be interesting to see if he plays there, or infact retires and just concentrates on his junior coaching role with Sturt.

if peake have at least one or two handy onballers, surely smelty could look to kick a ton in that league. mind you sayers will be kicking it over his head whenever they play at home. peake is smaller than the toy oval in TB

I heard from someone who knows a bit about Mypo that the Tigers have lost a few reasonable players. Lindner has apparently retired, Smelty, the 2 that were signed by Peake a few months ago (a couple of good young players), Simmons, and apparently they had a couple of guys from Mt Lofty who could be leaving as well. So if they're all gone, plus Webb, as mentioned by floataboy on the Mallee thread, then the Tigers depth may not be as good as they would have liked. Haven't heard much about their INs though, or whether Joe Pedler will be playing, i dont think anyone at all knows the answer to that one.

Who knows topcat, probably a sign that the Eagles wont release him maybe. WWT has lost quite a few players from last year so would prob be desperate to hold onto him.

If this is so this could be the difference in a top 3 spot for MYPO

He can leave any time before June 30, i couldn't see Eagles holding him back if he's not playing As.
Fuller must think he has something to offer the league team.

sounds like all is happening in the RMFL at the moment. plenty of rumours and hearsay. with only 5 weeks to the first game, it will be very interesting to see how each team shapes up. it certainly is getting a bit exciting anyway!

On the div 3 saafl site it suggests that the players that where heading to Mannum from Walkerville are now not going, where will this leave Mannum now?

they managed to scrape into finals last year but probably shouldnt have. they did beat imps early in the year but generally i think they only beat teams below them on the ladder. struggled for depth in 07 and by the sounds of it, it wont get much better for them this year. will be a fair blow for the roos as they need a decent half a dozen extra players to mix it with the top 3.

They certainly felt it when the young Smith lad got a contract with SACA, they seemed to go downhill from there. If they dont lose too many from last year they should go ok, but if they've lost a few and haven't picked up many they could be challenged by Tailem and Meningie for a finals berth.

yeah i agree. this could very well cement their spot in the bottom two or three.
well if your report on mypo is correct, i guess they are still a silly chance to make finals regardless. it will be like a comp with two divisions, the top three (-imps, jerv, ram) and the rest

Yeah more than likely they'll be top 3 again.

I think the interesting team is Ramblers, not much has been discussed about them on here. Apparently Jackson is staying with the Chooks, haven't heard if Morris is staying, i presume he is?? Crossy obviously has gone, but haven't heard who else if any. They've picked up a guy from the BLG league, but haven't heard much else about them at all.
