would he have to prove to the league he lives in M Bridge to be classed as local?

Presumably he would otherwise the system could be manipulated too much.

With this guy he'd probably go to a tribunal and outline how he'd moved to MB for work i suppose.

I'm not certain, possibly it could be Josh Charles whos been mentioned as one of their recruits and i think has previously played for West Adelaide. I'm not sure if this Charles guy is a ruckman though.

i was told the other day that people moving to the district are still worth points.
the reason being that the town clubs - imps and ramblers- generally always pick up the new people who move to the bridge, thus becoming stronger.
so apparently this was one of the reasons the points system was introduced (presumably backed by the 'out of town' sides).
i believe he played at tanunda or kapunda so would be worth 2 or 3 points?
an unfortunate thing for A graders moving to the area, but it does stop imps and ramblers having the monopoly on fresh blood in the town

i thought he might do that. supposedly he wanted an easy decision and having half the clubs in the league chasin him wouldnt help.

got the standard tonight and the mypo write up was interesting. seems as though they havnt lost many and have gained "4 A graders" plus joel eckerman back into the squad (broken leg last year) but dont mention any names. Dalwood mainly talks his normal sh*t and goes on about joe pedler and that mypo need him to go any good this year. It isnt clear in the article if he is coming or not so time will tell i guess. They are aiming for a top 3 finish (obviously) so will be interesting to see if the tigers can do it.

mannum write up next week so well wait and see who they have picked up.

I've read the Tailem and Meningie articles f/boy, must say i'm a bit disappointed that theres not much mention really of any recruits, particularly TB who have reportedly recruited but none mentioned. I guess they're waiting for the week before round 1 when they do a write up for each club with their INs and OUTs.

Posted on the Div 1 amateurs thread that someone speaking to someome from Mypo who said that Julian Wait a fair chance to play at Imps this year.

So they COULD finish up with J Wait, T Wait, Harrowfield, Girdham and Jenner all in their forward line

A bit of talent, and $$$$$$'s there

J wait & Jenner are injury prone so don't expect much out of them this year.
Big decision for Imperials with points allocation.

didnt they used to have a list of player ins and outs in these articles in previous years? im pretty sure they did.

yeah it is almost pointless that they don't say who their recruits are in the article. it probably doesnt warrant a full page spread.

how does someone at mypo know what julian wait is doing?? does he have a link out there?

would they be able to fit him in points wise or not? imps would then surely take over the 'cash for players club' title in the RMFL if it were true.

There's been a few leave over the years.
Murray Bridge Redlegs folded in about 1999? (confirm date??).
Border Downs/Tintinara left and joined the Mallee league,
and Nairne Bremer were in the RMFL for 2 or 3 years and then went back into the Hills FL.

Yeah i think they used to mention some recruits a year or 2 ago in these articles but these days theres not a lot of substantial info at all. Just most clubs saying "we're hoping to improve on last year". Will probably just have to wait until the week before the first game when they do a more extensive write up.

from memory i think dalwood does his predicted finishing ladder later on which may be a bit more of an indication on how clubs have gone. i assume he would know of all the clearances that have gone in and out of all the clubs so would you would imagine he would have some idea....

I think Wait would be 4 points, Girdham 3, and Jenner 4 points, so thats 11, and they've only got 10 allocated to them. The ruckman they have i believe hasn't played for a year or 2 so may not be any points. So i guess the only way they could get both Jenner and J Wait would be if one of them hadn't played enough league footy over the last 2 years or so, and i'm fairly sure both have.

As for the cash for players bit, i'd say in fairness to Imps, that they probably think they've been so close to winning a flag for 3 out of the last 4 years now against Jervois, and that if they're to go that extra step they need some quality imports in their side because they know that the Bluds will still have their 8 or 9 imports. If they (Imps) dont get these big guns in, they're more than likely going to finish up runners up AGAIN, and how embarassing would that be
