Fair enough, as McLaren Flat do not derserve to lose their identity, but again it should have been addressed when the club came in the comp so they didn't clash with Encounter Bay. Can't have 2 Eagles in the one comp, it is rediculous. Collingwood put a stop to Port being called the Magpies in the AFL. Same could be said for Willunga not having a netball team following the football. It breaks up families, but never addressed when they came in.

There are 4 clubs nicknamed the bulldogs in Amatuer Div 5 this year. I don't think this is much of an issue, more so that guernsey's don't clash. IMO the GSFL should bring in white shorts for the away clubs, except games against Strath obviously. Are there any other leagues that don't change shorts for home and away games?

The League can't really do anything about the netball side of things but they should at least approach the netty league to play the football and netball finals at the same grounds.

Interesting to see that many clubs that voted for the points system are now figuring out that they might be in some trouble this season and the coming seasons......maybe the cold weathers getting to a few magpies? or petrol prices at yank are going through the roof.
Predictions 2010 GSFL 8 teams 5 sh1t 1 ok 2 decent "RIP GSFL" (i hope herm & kev are in good shape by then to carry the coffin)

Is there a real need for away shorts in the GSFL? The only clash i can think of is Victor and Bays.

Footy and Netty finals at the same venue is a great idea and would add to the atmosphere but the grounds and parking would be a huge problem hence why they don't do it.

Having missed out on finals I was unaware the football and netball finals were at different venues, thats bloody ridiculous!
Get them together like everyone else at the same venue! Plenty of parking outside the oval, I mean it is a sports game after all so surely people can walk from their cars atleast!

Mclaren and Myponga clash as well. Both have predominately dark guernseys with yellow numbers and a yellow stripe across the lower back.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't Myponga predominately Green with Green shorts and Mclaren predominately blue with blue shorts?

When you've got your head over the ball in traffic they can look very similar.
That's what I heard, not getting into traffic too much myself :D
Having watched a few 'Pongy/Mclaren clashes over the last few years it can be harder to see.

Seriously though, the GSFL is the only league I've played in where the away clubs don't wear white shorts. I have always wondered why this is?

The only sides that really clash is Yank and the Creeks. Predominantly yellow/gold in both jumpers. There was a time where the away team had to wear white shorts. I don't know whether that still exists or not but it was always tricky as when you played creeks early in the season and the sun was setting and there was as Norman May would say 'gold, gold gold' everywhere. All the players just appeared to be on the same side.

Sometimes of late against the creeks its like 1 sides out there anywayz!

How do we get sides like Yank back into the pack and competing? Interesting opinions on the issue they voted in the Points System and my biggest fear if it came in was clubs like Yank would NOT benefit from it being put in place. Tough to see a club with a junior program that has struggled to win games for years competing when ur predominantly relying on ur junior talent to compete. I for 1 hope that the tigers are competitive this season.

MC a little fired up yesterday at the head honchos of GSFL footy! Some interesting nights await at the footy club this season!

When Langhorne Creek and Yank meet one side wears white shorts in the A & B Grade. Langhorne Creek also wear all yellow socks rather than the striped ones. I would love to see the white shorts for away games happen all year round.
