odi game 9 aust v sri lanka, mcg

Postby bayman » Tue Feb 19, 2008 8:46 pm

i'd suggest the aussies easily as the batsmen will be out to show some of the press that they are wrong, if they bat first i'd expect 250+ which has only happened once in this tournament by any team
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Yes Ponting is playing.

Australia batting first, Gilly already out.

Punter dropped, He loves the G. Not a good place to drop him, even in the form he is in.

be lucky now to get 150 let alone 250 plus, this Aussie side just looks so disinterested apart from Michael Clarke, time for changes, not resting people, time the selectors stood up dropped Ponting, Symonds and Hayden, their current form is nothing short of woeful

Easy Tiger, drop three of the most consistent cricketers on the world stage just because of their first inevitable form slump in a long while.....

Punter was struggling during the Tests against India before that series was sewn up. He wouldn't have been cruising along then so I believe he is just in a serious form slump that has to happen. You don't go dropping the captain of the best team in the world and the worlds number two rated batsmen because of this. Haydos has been in great nick most of the summer, OD form not so good but come the finals of this tourney he'll bounce back. Roy has too much too offer and will bounce back also, will probably take a blinding catch to get rid of Kumar later today (NostraWCPdamus)

Bottom line, you don't drop players of their calibre. Rotation maybe......give them a rest
