How old would Darren Ayris be now...?? I thought he was 30 something when Porties defeated Morphies in the 1997 A grade grand final... Club count as i know it - Christies, Porties, Brighton, Victor, now Hackham, i'm sure that's not it either... Probably wearing his footy shorts from the 90's though, Warrick Capper would be jealous at how tight this guy wears his shorts...

I know Scotty Brammer played at Hackham previously but did Squida ever play there previously? If my memories correct he played at Porties but its a vague memory at that. Also be interesting if hackham get a few wins under the belt and sort the club out this year if they get a few players back from Noarlunga and surroundings.

Hey is it true that Reynella are looking down the barrel at not having the numbers to field an under 18's team this year?

Squida is definately not a certainty for the Hawks. even if he was, he is late 30's. Not to say he is not incredibly fit and a very handy person to have around any club. I know he has ties to a couple of clubs down south and is meant to be coaching the Hawks 18's but as they only have 10 or so lads he may be moving camp for a different role in another up and coming club.

That is what I was told CT over the weekend. Was talking with a reynella player and he stated that numbers had been very poor maybe around 6-8 at the most, I was also told that Brad Wyatt had left the club and taken up an assistant coaches role at McLaren Vale.

Very interesting to read about Reynella being unable to field an U/18 team. Their 16's lost a prelim and their 18's lost the GF last year, how can you go from having two successful teams, to no team at all? Must be a few problems over there, i know that is said a lot on here, but this is evidence.

Has anyone ever thought that some of the players are multi talented and may be playing in junior cricket finals this weekend and have been concentrating on there cricket. Most of your better u/18's will be training with the seniors. IMO they will fill an u/18 side.

How are other sides going with u/18 numbers at this time of year??

Seems some blokes on here like taking a cheap shot at the flies at every opportunity.

Easy Hound, this info comes from an under 18 that was playing at Reynella but is now training with the Emus coz he said Reynella were struggling to field a team this year, hence the question "is it true that Reynella are looking down the barrel at not having the numbers to field an under 18's team this year"

No-one has taken any cheap shots at Reynella about this (yet) , would just like to find out from the Reynella posters if its true or not. I also think its unlikely as they are usually around the mark in the 18s.

Sorry Hound, may not have worded my last comment perfectly. I was not having a cheap dig at Reynella, was just saying that it would be a huge surprise to go from having two strong sides to not being able to fill a side and that a club would have to have a few problems for this to happen. Reynella have always been strong in this age and would not be good for the league if they did not field a side. How many U/18’s are training with the seniors and how many are likely to play a full season in the 18’s?

I hear that people bag Reynella because they try (unsucessfully) every year to buy a premiership.

Does this mean they followed Brad to Mclaren?

From what I'm told by some close McLaren people is Brad hasn't taken too many players from Reynella... if any at all. I did have a chat with a parent of an U/18 a few months ago and he was taking his son out of Reynella because of the bad club culture and atmosphere. This isn't a dig, just quoting what I'm told.

I'm sure their would be a parent or two at most clubs that aren't happy with their footy club culture and atmosphere, i'd put it down to an excuse for them to leave the club because the son wasn't good enough to get a game there.

Reynella will fill an U'18s side and will finish in the top 4.

They have had great junior sides for many years and this will continue for a long time to come.

Good positive thinking Damien - i reckon you will be right.

I would have no clue what;s happening in the 18's at fly park. so no real insight from me. I find this talk really hard to believe and would like to hear from someone actually involved down there???

RFC have always had successful juniors, so this would be a massive turn around for a successful club, which makes it very hard for me to believe? it is early for juniors to train anyway isn't it? As the hound has stated already?
