DAY 1
QL were in strife on day one at 3/75
A superb top score 80[142] by Shane Watson re invigorated the QL innings
Watson got QL to 6/247 to a 6/270 day 1

As long as Symonds and Hopes are there Watson will not get a national gig. Symonds is going well and well to be honest I dont rate hopes but hes miles in from of Watson.

However
His o/d and 20/2O form at domestic level is very good AGAIN this season.
His International o/d form last year was outstanding.
DJ HUSSEY quite rightly gets his call up in the squad as a batsman in the AU/IN game today
WATSON would be the next in line as a batsman only in o/d games.

Watsons form has been ok not brilliant but not bad. He is only averaging 36 in the Franger.
Dighton, Rochi, White, Paine, The 2 Marshs, Voges, Birt and Quiney all average more this year in the same comp (Just to name a few) so he has hardly been a dominant batsman.
Why would the selectors pick Watson after 4/5 solid games in OD cricket.?
