Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

All fun and games now HS, until you actually start playing and EU run out of legs after half time for the entire first round. Hardly a great preparation for a side coming off a wooden spoon??

By the sounds of it EU will have a complete set of legends. If this is the example the co-captain co-coach co-team manager or whatever he is is doing.

Kaboom, tell me what you really think......touched a nerve I see :D

Sorry mate, I have never heard of anyone starting football training end of March. Sorry to point out I think you will be massively underdone, let alone have time to get the skills right in a month, hardly a cheap swipe.

I would have thought a club coming off a spoon would be moving heaven and earth to improve the following year, not take things even more casually.

March 16th we start actually but letters have already been sent out to all players stating they should be doing their own run once or twice a week. 10 or so boys can reguarly be seen down the yacht club or centenary on Mondays and Wednesday. Dont you worry about us panther, if we are bottom at the end of the second round i will give you my moderator status and run down the front street naked

I am also well aware that you have recruited exceptionally well and should be a top 3 side this year. There will be improvement based on this no doubt, but why wouldn't you start training normal time or earlier to give yourselves the best possible chance of hitting the ground running in the first round. Those early wins are crucial, especially when the heavyweights are not preparing as hard so early, when they are more confident of getting to September and being at their peak then.

Is a month or so enough time for HS to get his game plan across and do training drills based on it?

These criticisms are also echoing up that way I'll add......

criticism will ALWAYS come from the life members at ANYclub, no matter how bad or good the team is performing the old boys up there love getting together and have a chat about the side, coaching methods and even lincoln players, thats no secret!! every club has their members that always know best!! but being a country club with so many lincoln players its just to hard to start pre-season in january or even February, tried it in previous years and its just impossible to get the numbers out early in the year no matter where we sat on the ladder the previous year. Make no mistake EU is more focuses and organized this year than any other year, we've already have 26 players attend a golf day in January and we're holding a get together tennis tourney at the club later this month with a couple kegs etc, all this team building stuff should get every player keen for a big year on the field.

Just make sure he gives some reasoning behind the late start, not more mud slinging. From where I sit (in my big leather chair  ) it seemed a bit strange starting so late as per my reasons above, which you have explained a little. Like to hear the top dogs reasoning as well.

The late season starts on the EP take a bit of getting used to. I remember a few years ago (2006) speaking to a new recruit for TFC in early March who was all pumped and excited about the upcoming season. Had been training for well over a month at that stage and was champing at the bit. Should have seen his jaw drop when I told him that the season start was still 8 weeks away....

after we won the spoon Ronnie wanted to at least be seen to be making a big effort to get things right. With sponsors and supporters etc, coming off a spoon and starting training late march doesn’t look too good. You would think a new coach would be itching to get into it

p.s I havent got a leather chair
