Incident at Globe Derby

Postby SCD » Sun Jan 27, 2008 11:52 am

From what I heard last night a well known trainer has got very upset with the allegations of "stable driving" from their stable and has threatened legal action against the 5RPH harness show team.

From my understanding - comments were made on Saturday morning along the lines of - "This stables horse will have a lot more difficult time finding the front with the stablemate scratched and with fast beginners off the front row"..... This has upset the trainer who last night told Trackman Scot that anymore comments like that from either him or Tee would result in legal action being taken against them.

this well known trainer should also understand that team racing etc maybe good for the people in the know, but for people who arent involved or no people involved like me it just puts you off investing in trots which then also means less turn-over and that reflects in less prizemoney..........and market share may also decline also.

threatening legal action against a volunteer run radio station and show just goes to show that these people think they are actually bigger then then industry itself and if they were any good at there craft why arent they interstate, especially the wild wild west......

exactly & i heard today at victor harbor that someone from the same stable approached the other on-air announcer tony lawrence at this mornings trials basically saying the same thing

but why does this stable get upset at comments when some horses change tactics from week to week ? i want to say a certain horses name & ask how can there be that much difference in tactics in a similar field but i wont this is the same stable as my post of drivers wife complains

in grand prix racing you are allowed to team-drive & until they change the rules in racing (both codes) you are not allowed but it does happen fortuneately you can work it out before the race

& mals answer sums it up precisely

Absolutely disgraceful is all I can say. The 5RPH team said what anyone who has ever watched a race with 2 or more of this stables runners in it was already well aware of :o :o

They might consider themselves smart, but really when they continue to have the son in law drive for them - when he's a very average driver - then they really have no other choice then to team drive to win races - which as we are all aware is against the rules.

I'm sure Centreman would be able to tell us about his thoughts on this stables team driving

Cant team race in F1 anymore, not since the pommy media complained about Schuey being handed a race (and not caring about the same thing happening countless times in the past)

well well well, after just watching race 3 i wonder what 'they' think of all this after it was done, this time someone else did it & 'they didn't win'

also imagine getting an article written in the harness weekly (page 74), this mob are an absolute disgrace & NOT TELLING THE WHOLE TRUTH (when giving a story)

i can tell you the truth behind the plunge with the horse named 'luv the earth' or something very very similar to that name (it was 10/1 into odds on) on this night & this was when there were at least 10 bookies still going, for those that know me pm me & i'll tell you

i spoke to someone from another state & he asked me what the story was (he didn't know about this site but does now ) so i told him what i knew & he said "so they don't think it is the right thing to do by giving the negatives & not the positives, yet they get a story in the national paper that is all negative"

Its the old story bayman some people can give it out but Not take it.
Stables/Trainers shouldn't be dirty on people having a opinion (or stating facts in some cases) when tactics on different horses change from week to week depending on a stablemate in the race!!!!!!
Then they want to cry wolf and whinge when people have thought on it all!!!!!!
Like i said can't always have your cake and eat it too!!!!!

NO the person from interstate wasn't SCD :D :D

What I will say is that I have spoken to a number of people in my local tab (who own and bred horses for a number of years) and they think it's a disgrace. Given they read HRW and know i'm from Adelaide they've been asking a lot of questions about it from me..

When I discussed the story from my point of view with them a comment was made "that's been happening for decades in SA and when they got sick of it in SA they came and tried their luck in Victoria" - so it doesn't go un-noticed here in Victoria what goes on...
