I used to go to school with Jimmy, he was about 4 or 5 years younger than me and was one of the most arrogant year 8s I've ever met. Is he taller than 4 foot yet?

He played a fair bit out at Westies too, I think he played a few league games. He wears a helmet when he plays now because his skull was badly fractured and he had to have it reconstructed or something. Flying Ant might be able to fill in more accurate details though
His cousin Kev Whyatt who wore no. 7 last year for us is a fair gun as well.

oh yeah forgot about him he was a good player aswell i think he played in the ass. game with me i think anyway i dont really remember i do remember us getting our ass's kicked tho.

You have the wrong bloke there, league leading goal kicker was not selected... Proof that last years association team was selected by the blind!

From what i have seen i would have to agree with you carey18. Two might be alright, the others will struggle... Sounds like Peake may have alot larger list to select from this year, especially if the rumours of Karoonda are true.

Yeah, i've heard Peake have picked up some handy recruits, quite a number who can play as key forwards, expect a big improvement with them this year.

Flying Ant, I think carey is referring to "Super" Kev Whyatt there, who did play in the ass. game at Renmark.

How many key forwards do you need on Peake's oval though? If you have a dominant CHF you're best off playing them at FF, otherwise the ball will keep going over their head.

Although multiple targets will come in handy on the bigger grounds like Lameroo, Karoonda and Murrayville.

Have to agree there. Think you should play a Pagens Padock set up. Key forward in the square and other run down from the middle. Oval to small for a key CHF

Someone like Seyers could equally play at CHB as he could in the forward line. He was a gun in the RMFL so will be able to play equally well in this league anywhere down the spine. With 3 or 4 quality kpp's they'll be able to rotate according to whats best for the side.

[quote="malleebull"]there are rumours that karoonda maybe folding. can anyone comment on this issue????

I've also heard the rumours of Karoonda folding. Does anyone know whether this is true or not? What would that mean for the Mallee league as a whole?

They've had an emergency meeting, not sure about any more than that.

There was a league meeting last night and apparently Karoonda are trying to find at least 10 senior players within 2 weeks or they won't be fielding senior sides in 08. It puts a question mark on the long term viability of the Mallee League.

peakes recruits from central united seem to be a bit dogdey.
"2 were asked to leave from that club and the other 2 are sheep with no heart that followed. one of them is a full forward with arms like inspector gadget!!!!!!!!" i was told that by a reliable source from central united.

time will tell!!!!!!

Shannon wyatt now has about $20,000 worth of screws and plates holding his skull together... pretty horific injury, happened nearly 4 years ago now while playing with west adelaide. was running back with the flight of the ball only to recieve a team mates knee to the face... didn't play football for nearly two seasons and rightly so! very gutsy to return, very good player, very happy to have him back playing for murrayville!
Didn't mean to offend with my earlier comment, but i agree with Brocky, Peake will need to pick up at least another 4-5 quality players to be contenders this year.

And now he wears a helmet.... the bloke must be soft!!!

You staying up there or going to Pooraka?

Would be a shame if there is no comp

Surely a 5 team comp is better than no competition at all. I'm a bit surprised that theres a danger that they'll shut down the league if one club folds. Theres a few leagues on the Eyre Peninsula that have functioned ok with 5 or less clubs. Its not ideal, but i think its better than nothing.
