he said in the interview tommorow will be his last game unless SA squeze into the final. he wants to see a young fella open the batting in the last two games in the pura cup. he is doing a degree in construction at Uni SA and he is gunna get a job organising the construction of the new grandstand at Adelaide oval and he is staying in SA. thats a good oppurtunity for him

I think he's been a pretty good servant of SA cricket, in the short form of the game. I'm glad he realises his time is up. Just because he's retiting doesn't mean we can't talk about his lack of form ect. Good on him for hanging up the boots though.

With Adcock Dumped and Elliott Finally Doing the Right thing, All we need now is for Fatty Cossie to Quit the Game OR Eating and the Redbacks will then Finally have their Best Chance to make their Long Awaited Re-surgence as a Cricket Power.

Or is it just a 'surgence' instead of a 'resurgence'?

I wonder if the contract will contain a clause that a "Mathhew Elliott must be employed on the site" or will he represent the SACA's position in the project?

One would assume that he will continue to play for West Torrens also?

Opportunities are priceless, aren't they? How many graduate engineers would kill for the chance to be involved in such a project?

I hope they dock his pay on that project to compensate for his 4-day performances for SA...

Seeing Dan Harris make a 100 when he could not in 3 seasons
opening the batting in p/cup might have been the last straw for Matthew.

I know his average and his batting was better this season than his 2 previous seasons
but I feel that this was his most disappointing season
In the first 2 seasons he had plenty of 0-10 innings and never got going.
This season Matty has had a start in more innings and was set when dismissed.
The frustration of not converting his starts into biggys is very disappointing
for us and personally for Matthew.

In the end he played more Tests and State cricket games than what I did.
A great batsman For Victoria
A great O/D batsman for South Australia
