Any truth to Hargraves signing on with Gepps Cross in the SAAFL and Elijah Ware returning to the Dogs after having his local clearance knocked back?

Have heard Hargreaves is a required player at Maggies and he wanted more money that Gepps were prepared to pay anyway.

Still some conjecture over whether Charles Slattery will be playing for Central. Appears it is down to the player group to decide if the club should justify the cost of flying him back from Melbourne each week.

And that cost is also included in the salary cap of course.

Which would be why the playing group are getting such a say in the matter - they have to accept him not training with the club and they have to take a pay cut to accomodate.

Serious question - is he worth it?

My opinion, no. Would have to be an essential player and he isn't quite one of those. If it were Callinan, Thomas, Slade or Schell I would say yes (those names off the top of my head, might have missed 1 or 2).

I actually am a huge Slatts fan and believe that once he found his feet he was a key reason we won the flag last year.

I'm a huge fan too BDP, I would love to see him suit up this season. I just don't reckon he's worth a 2 way ticket from Melbourne every week, plus his playing fee, plus his lack of club based training, plus, plus, plus.

Too much downside for the potential gain, IMO.
