How many surfaces are there in tennis? Hardcourt and Clay...oh yeah and Grass once a year....
My only argument with that is there are different variences of hardcourt which effect the balls differently al la the argument about the Australian Open surface been to slow. It's only a small variety but still it is one.
Plus there is the variety of been able to adapt to another players style of tennis, you may have to change your style from week to week depending on who your playing, in golf you would like to just stick to the same swing no matter who your playing against.
