Bridgeway was always a great place, fantastic atmosphere.

One of the best shows i saw there was Barnesy in the early 90's, when he still knew how to put on a show, ie drink a whole bottle of vodka and scream his lungs out !!!
A couple of hours standing by the speakers.................a couple of days without hearing (they were great shows though)

Duncan Hall? @ Wayville- TERRIBLE sound. saw INXS there once and the tinny sound ruined my ears for about 2 weeks.

That would have been the 94 show where Urge Overkill supported them. A mate went and said the sound was shirthouse. The promoters said they'd have the sound problem sorted out for the BDO which was a few weeks later......they didn't.

Thats the one- Sister Havana was pretty new on the scene as I recall....

rsemmler- I saw my mates band at night train and it was pretty good. Mind you there were 50 people max, not sure how it goes with a reasonably full house. itchywoolpants went and saw LA Guns there and thought it was great, but he is biased...

Best venues now for live music in no particular order IMO.

The Gov, HQ, Grace Emily, The Wheatsheaf, Maryanne Reserve Mannum.
I've played a couple of these venues.
Like others I saw so many bands in the late 80's and early 90's at the Tiv.
I reckon Mickey Finn was right up there with Noiseworks and Charlie Musselwhite as the picks.
Big pity the pubs make more money out of Pokies, well and truly buggered up the live music scene.
Failure is only the opportunity to begin again more intelligently.

Ah yes the Tiv, saw the Divynals there live back in 81 on their first tour over here, still the best live act I've seen. Also saw Birthday Party, Oils, Machinations, Angels, Dave Warner, Hooks, Ariel & various others back then at the Tiv.
For the ancient & decrepit Lark & Tinas in Hindley St. Stumbled in there very pissy one night, paid the $4 or something like that to get in & was delighted to see The Saints start up their first set.
Now I see that some of these reformed bands charging $100 for a show at the Thebby, sad.
Hey soccer you owe us 45million.
