Trahan chases down Leonard at Classic

January 21, 2008 AMERICAN D.J. Trahan chased down overnight leader Justin Leonard to clinch his second PGA Tour title by three shots at the Bob Hope Classic.

Four strokes off the pace going into the final round, Trahan birdied four of the first six holes on his way to a sparkling seven-under-par 65 at the Classic Club.

The 27-year-old grabbed the lead for the first time with a birdie at the par-five 14th and picked up one more shot at the par-five last to finish at 26-under 334.

Leonard, three ahead with nine holes to play, lost momentum with two consecutive bogeys from the 10th before driving into water to bogey the last for a closing 72 and second place.

Any thoughts on Pebble Beach dutchy?

get on tiger again ? just a question for the gurus is there odds up anywhere for tiger to win all 4 majors this year ?hes in the best form of his life atm and would think these odd should be reasonable somewhere around 15s to 20s ?

need players that can handle the wind at Pebble Beach. I'm going to have a little on a couple; Padraig Harrington, Justin Leonard, Vijay Singh and Hunter Mahan. A little on each to win and an all-up for the top 10.

Yes but if can be dead calm also....Ive been to Pebble Beach its ******* magnificent, didnt get to play but just walking around the 18th green was unreal....

Weir is playing his 4th tourney for the year and has been around the place and has a good record at Pebble, Harrington is playing his first tourney in the US for the year and has only played 3 in the last 10 weeks, also interesting to red he has changed his swing slightly...this all points to Weir winning the H2H here

I know little about these 2 blokes but reckon there is a good bet here, Hoffman is ranked 130 in the world and missed the CUt last week and finished 67th in the Buick....Marino however seems to be on the rise, ranked 156 but hasnt missed a cut so far this year and finished 4th, 23rd, 29th & 34th so far, very consistent for someone with his ranking...also averaging 2 shots better per round than Hoffman and is a much better putter...all points to him winning this match up

Marino win H2H against Hoffman
$110- @ $1.90 Marino withdrew from the Tourney, Hoffman mised the cut so opportunity lost I feel

What a waste of a tourney! Didnt want to lay VJ overnight, thought he would win but thought of putting $6- on Lowry at $55- overnight but didnt he was only 4 shots off the lead, shows the value to be had in golf!
