20/20 squad

Postby smithy » Wed Jan 30, 2008 3:54 pm

Squad: Ricky Ponting (capt), Michael Clarke (v-capt), Adam Gilchrist, Nathan Bracken, Ben Hilfenhaus, Brad Hodge, James Hopes, David Hussey, Michael Hussey, Brett Lee, Ashley Noffke, Andrew Symonds, Adam Voges

Selectors have dropped fast bowlers Stuart Clark and Shaun Tait from the squad which thrashed the Kiwis, with Ben Hilfenhaus and James Hopes earning call-ups to join Brett Lee, Nathan Bracken and Ashley Noffke in the 13-man squad.

Test paceman Mitchell Johnson has also been left out with selectors opting to rest him, along with opening batsman Matthew Hayden who has experienced ongoing tightness in his hamstring.

Brad Hodge returns after being ruled out of the Perth match with a freak injury minutes before the start.

And in-form Victorian batsman David Hussey is poised to make his debut for Australia alongside Test star brother Michael in the middle order.

Excellent! David Hussey thoroughly deserves his place. Here's hoping we might see him for a couple of the ODI's as well, once the selectors start running their much MALigned rotation policy...

Very much deserved for David Hussey. Hopefully he will get his chance in Test cricket when a spot becomes available.

What a bloody site, nearly 90 thousand in the ground, young PUP runs out Sehwag with a brilliant bit of fielding.

India after 2 overs 2/14, think I would rather be there than here, looks bloody awesome

India 74 all out.

The way India played that innings even the Redbacks would have done better.

Fitting that Habajan is wearing 66, just needs to add another 6 I reckon

At least the Redbacks

1. Can score 97
2. Can get more than one batsman in double figures

Since their effort of 29 a few years ago, nothing would suprise me about the Redbacks. They can be great occasionally, but they can also be woeful, unfortunately too much of the latter.

Last night I like it when gilly was batting he had the mic on. It was interesting to hear what he was thinking when he was out there in the middle.
