Strathalbyn started training last week and coach Simmons has informed the boys that he doesn't believe in running! So it's boots and balls from day one for the Roosters. Some of the boys are very happy about this approach - I just hope Simmons can keep it interesting for the next 8 months!

Is a good way to go about things providing the boys work hard through all drills. Its an important part of the season getting the kms into the legs but chasing a footy is what we do so why not do it right from the start. Kudos to Coach Simmons Bruce you would have to be happy with that??

Hows things up in Strath anyway?

FM is your man , he coaches the bay so who better to tell you . It will be interesting at the bay next year , not all roses their this year so hopefully they can turn it around and make a better go of it . Players like scott brown , jacob baggs , dave saunders and co need to have a big year and unite under bassani . They will miss princi though .

The Bays have lost Baylis, Princi and possibly Stokes for 08 and Webber has retired to ass. coach Port Maggies U/17.

The players mentioned above have already commenced training together along with a 25 others in order to prepare for a pre-season that will kick off with a gruelling camp in Jan.

Can anyone tell me why Saunders from Victor is ringing other clubs (GSFL) players? I can confirm he has rang Stokes and Hooper. Stokes will not play for another GSFL club and Hooper was never leaving and will not unless he gets a game at South. I mean I know we had a few players from the GSFL call us but we didnt contact them.

Remember this old talk that went on FM (Bass) and you were saying the bays dont contact other GSFL players and you asked why victor would be doing so!

So can you tell us why Jaden Dycer (Chucky) went to a interview with you on tuesday night, from what i have been told (and i my little bird on this one is as reliable as they come) you guys called him up he did not contact you, infact LF stated early on that he was one of the lads at the saints training before x-mas!!
Come on Bas talk your way out of this one!

Nothing to talk out of, your news is only half true pumpkin and you've forgotten to mention/mixed up a few key details.

1) Chucky MAY have actually made contact via a Bays player he used to live with
2) He played at the Bays in 2005/06 and always said he would return
3) Who says he had an interview, someone watching training does not = interview and at no time has money been mentioned

Your news on this occasion is skewed and Jaden is still very much a Goolwa player.

He did play at the bays then looking at the GSFL site also looks like he played jnr and snr football for Goolwa so that would make him a Goolwa local player in my opinion.
So he may have mentioned something to a player, then coaching staff have contacted him did they?
Still Bass you were not to happy about Victor speaking to your players, how do you think Saints will feel about you speaking to Chucky?
So no interview just a spectator at training with no formal words spoken?

According to the association he is both a Bays and Goolwa local player, in the same respect was it Goolwa who signed John Jarred??

The point Im making is if Chucky chose to come to the Bays it would be his choice, he has not been poached nor has he been offered money to intice him or anyone else.

Its spelt tough!

Kappers, clubs & coaches can speak to who ever they feel like. Clubs dont own players. If you look after them they'll stay. Worried that your not??

Worried that I am not????
Sorry mate I am in no position at any club to look after players, the only reason I asked the question is I could remembered FM saying having a bit to say about this kind of activity when Victor spoke to Stokes and co.
I agree if players are looked after and happy at their club then they wont leave, 90% of the time local players leave their club and mates id because another club has put some $$$ on the table.

I actually dont believe that the majority of players in the GSFL will swap clubs within the league for the $$. Having recruited within the Gsfl myself the opportunity to play more A grade has been the sealer

I dont know about anyone else but I cant understand what your writing here? :?

Anyway, John Jarred went to Goolwa because he was offered money to play there. Chucky spoke with a few of his mates about the bays I am sure and then came for a look, no harm in it and completely different to having players rang out of the blue by opposition clubs/coaches. Your attempts to paint me as a hypocrit on this occasion are not valid in the slightest.
