When Hayden goes, I think Australia will struggle, because Hayden sets the tone of the Australian batting innings and you can tell the difference from the WACA Test and The Adelaide Oval Test, but without Hayden, I don't have a clue who would open.
Hayden will still be there for another 2 years or so I'd say so we don't have to think about his replacement just yet. Between now and then anybody could put their hand up with some strong performances in the Shield.
We do have good keepers waiting in the wings, Haddin would be my replacement as he is a superb player.. very good batsmen who likes to attack like Gilly, as does Ronchi so we won't miss out too much there. We also have strong batsmen running around in the domestic comp, same goes for quicks.. it's the lack of a decent spin option that worries me.
Pup and Roy would be my picks though, go with another pace option and let those two lads roll their arms over. Of course it depends on the pitch, we may need a full time spinner.. I'm a fan of leggies and think they generally pose more of a threat so was hoping Cullen Bailey would continue his rise but that has stalled unfortunately.
