Thats a good effort from the Adelaide crowds, as Adelaide Oval is much smaller than most of the grounds. The most suprising of those figures is Brisbane and Perth.

Last month's second Test between Australia and Sri Lanka attracted 27,635, the third-best for a Bellerive Test, but was artificially boosted by more than 6000 school students subsidised by the State Government, the TCA and CA.

Coming to the rescue yet again! :) I'm sure if Hobart had an Ashes Test they will set a record at Bellerive.

I think Adelaide would have one of the more dominant attendences and for a little ground, this is very pleasing.

Have had the fortune to watch test cricket in most venues throughout Australia, without being biased Adelaide Oval is the best ground to watch by a long stretch. Sydney used to be great up on the hill till they got rid of it :D

97,723. In all the figures I have for Test matches from 1992/93 onwards, apart from Melbourne and Sydney Tests, only the Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth Tests last summer have had a bigger crowd than that.

The England Tests in 2002/03 and 2006/07 have a greater crowd when the days are taken into account:
(Top 5)
Year, Avg., Days
2006/07 27352.2 5
2002/03 19627.0 4
2007/08 19544.6 5
1994/95 17889.6 5
1996/97 17108.8 4

Compare that to another Test I have a figure for, the 1987/88 Test vs New Zealand:
1st - 8980
2nd - 7449
3rd - 8656
4th - 3664
5th - 1334
Total: 30083 (6016.6)
