Yeah he is a pretty quiet bloke. Was pretty handy for Paringa on half forward flank in 2006.
Played second half of grand final at full back on century goalkicker and did a lot better than the regular full back!

Reflex - four of your top five are all Aussie acts. That'd be pretty big if that happened wouldn't it?

I see in the River News this week that Waikerie have a couple tall blokes returning this year. Ben Venning back from a stint in the Mallee, and Jake Collins back from Port Augusta. Both i would expect to fill in the A's no worries this year and should more than cover the loss of Matt Oliver who has returned to Moonta.

Callop, what did you think of the River News saying that Oliver wasn't coming back as he wasn't "prepared to take a pay cut"?

That was interesting, i'd say with the guys that Waikerie have returning that they really dont need to spend money. Obviously he was on a bit and they figured the need didn't justify the expense..... He kicked a few goals, but how many of them were from lace out passes and generally against the bottom clubs?? How did you rate his performance DW?

His first season was much better than his first.
IIRC though he wasn't as big a focal point in 07, they had more scoring options particularly from the midfield.

As for the "pay cut" comment, I'm just really surprised that would be printed. It's not generally something that's talked about that openly is it.
