North vs Torrens, Round 14, 1989.

The match of the round, 1st vs 3rd, this was meant to be a big game. It ended up being a 124-point belting of the Eagles. Torrens never really recovered from this loss and ended up out of the top five by the end of the season. Kupsch and Tasker kick 5 goals each, and even Tiller kicks one. Highlights from North's last ever game against Torrens at their home ground:

1990 City AllStars vs Country AllStars:

I think this game was meant to be a SA vs Vic State-Of-Origin game which didn't happen for some reason. This was the replacement game. Highlights from Football Park:

North vs Centrals, Round 12, 1995.

North was asleep in the 1st half and was 28 points down mid-way through the 3rd quarter. They woke up in the 2nd half and let the Dogs only score 2 more goals. North's runners, such as Bamford, Squire and Atkinson piled on 9 goals in the last 45 minutes of the game for a strong win. Highlights from Football Park:

North vs Glenelg, Round 18, 1995.

North destroyed the Bays from the start. Brief highlights from a very muddy Prospect Oval:

A good old fashioned pants down belting that game, no excuses...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

If anyone has a copy...

The Andy Bennett interview on the Sunday Channel 9 Footy Show after round one, 1989 is a classic.

Straight monosyllabic answers...

North vs West, 2004 Elimination Final.

It had been 7 long years since we played a final. North were clearly the better side but took a while to show it. The big difference between the 2 teams was Hargs, kicking 7 goals. Banger kicks a pearler of a goal in front of the hill. Highlights from Adelaide Oval:

North vs Port, Round 14, 1997.

A very enjoyable win. North had a super first and last quarter to win comfortably in the end. A young Wintle kicks a couple nice goals and Phillips was terrific at half back. Port's 3rd quarter wasn't too flash, in the space of 5 minutes Delaney had a rock thrown at his head (which was incorrectly blamed on our cheersquad) by some kid, one of their players went off due to slamming into the fence and another player got accidentally knocked out after hitting a player's knee. North vs Sturt, Round 3, 2000.

With quite a few new players in the team this was an impressive win for the Roosters. Passages in the 2nd and 4th quarter when North rapidly scored multiple goals was good enough to beat the Blues at their home ground. Sutherland, Setchell and Bamford were particularly good in this game. Kellett boots a goal from the centre square. Highlights from Unley Oval:

North vs Sturt, 1997 Elimination Final.

Very low scoring due to the rain throughout much of game, only 12 goals kicked between both sides. North only scored 1 goal in the second half, which ended up being just enough to win. Highlights from Football Park:

North vs West, Round 4, 2002.

In what was a bit of a rarity this was North's second win in a row. We were well in front but let the Bloods catch up as the game went on, managing to hold on by less than 2 goals. Highlights from Prospect Oval:

North vs Port, Round 21, 1997.

Another win at Port's home ground. Morton and Sutherland had terrific games. Jeffries kicks a few goals, Parker misses a goal from the goal-line. Highlights from Alberton Oval:

North vs Sturt, 2005 Elimination Final.

North's 5th Elimination Final victory in a row. A bit of a scrappy/sloppy game at times, we had trouble building a comfortable lead, therefore it went down to the wire. Some flashy goals kicked by both teams. Wedgie makes a couple appearances at the end of the match. Highlights from Adelaide Oval:

North vs Port, Round 4, 2004.

North only kicked 3 goals in 3 quarters of this game, however Port were unable to respond to a destructive 8-goal burst during the 3rd quarter. Highlights from Prospect Oval:

North vs Port, early 2006.

A really gutsy win and one of my favourite North games in recent years. North had a heap of players out injured and Port were strong favourites to win. After keeping at them for 3 quarters North broke away in the last quarter for a great victory. McIntyre and Pfeiffer debut.

North vs Port, 2007.

Just another easy win at Alberton Oval. Alleway completely dominates, Ladhams kicks 4 goals in the 1st quarter and a huge amount of points were kicked by North. A good turn out of Roosters supporters enjoy watching the Magpies being wollaped. Highlights from Alberton Oval:
