I guess that's why the rule often ends up being you can't compare champions of different eras

Its so hard to compare apples with apples (because so much changes about the way the game is played) as we are finding as we delve into this issue :D

Has to be said the Aussies have come up against some quality pace bowling over the last 10 years and been fine with it - altho never playing a team with 4 quality fast bowlers

That was swing bowling more so than outright pace - ditto last test in Perth

Windies weren't massive swingers of the ball - Marshall excepted (Border rates him as the finest bowler he ever faced, RIP)

Just thought I'd disagree with you again for something different :D

If Bradman faced the 4 WI quicks of 1985 he would have averaged only 50 odd.
