Toughcall, I highly doubt Hahndorf will be the team to beat. I believe they have picked up 3 or 4 players of which 2 or 3 I believe are guns. matt Cooper from Eagles who's obviously a star, Tim Nicholls from Norwood who will obviously be probably the best ruckman in the comp besides Bawden from Lofty. Not sure of the names of the other guys, but when you're as bad as they were last year you'd need atleast 6 or 7 to start challenging Uraidla who will be the team to beat. They have only lost one player so they'd have to be the favourite at this stage. Although I hear Mt Barker have recruited well, can any one shed any light on their signings?

Interesting info you may have there mate. I heard Mt Barker haven't signed anyone of note. Perhaps someone out there knows a little more, fill us in.

Not the most info but enough to keep you guessing.... Mt Barker have regained David Murphy and have signed 3 South East players from Mt Gambier area, 1 of which is the Association CHB. Also a a rover from Naracourte and another HBF from Sydney league.
When I find out their names I will let you all know.

Michael potter played for the devils in the second half of the 2004 season. Correct in saying he is a rover. Not too bad a player, maybe lacks a little in disposal. Played u17's and u19's down at Sturt.

Jeez it's been quiet on here!! This time last year, no one could shut up the Lofty and Ironbank banter!! Whare have they all gone??

So is there any gossip around the HFL circles at the moment.

We've heard Lofty have lost a few. Have Uraidla or Ironbank lost any?

What have the training numbers been like?

Sauce is training with the Thunderers & has not missed a beat this pre-season... he's on the track & looking great.

You have to play Naughts fwd of centre otherwise he'd be knackered at half-time of each game from running bounce's up the ground when he spots the white sticks from the backline ha ha  .

Plays his most damaging footy around goals, however can be quite elusive on a wing, can kick very long, takes a good grab o/head & has seriously deceptive baulking skills on the run... Pity injury has held him back over the last couple of years, when on song he tears backlines apart.

Yeh... maybe a little mis-informed. CHB is his spot but no doubt with his height and skill he can chip in with a bit of ruck work around the ground.

I believe he played CHB at Gaza, but is very handy ruckman, and is great around the ground as well.

Artis and Mehta definate starters this year for the Devils. Things are starting to happen up there. From all reports the coach is pertty on to it, has much more idea that Grainger I hear. Could need one or two recruits to be serious contenders this year but you'd be silly if you thought they'd finish outside the top 3 or 4.
Lacking in serious forwards. Is Fleet playing? There's not much other than that for the Devils without Waite and Gordon. Having said that young Nielsen will be a star this year across CHF.
Is J Temme playing this year? Heard he was training at Sturt

Yes, artis and mehta are definate starters. Ben seems to be a great coach, some fresh ideas, but only time will tell.

I still think they will finish in the top 4 easily, although a few handy forward line pickups might do a world of good, losing your FF, CHF, and forward pocket player has to hurt, also dont forget there is not trigger who can easily sneak in several goals in a game, and 'buckets' Nielsen is defintely a handy one to have in the forward lines. However, don't forget there are several promising juniors coming up the ranks.

As to Fleety, cricket season is still ongoing, so im sure he has been batting a few down at Mylor on Tuesday and Thursday nights, he will still be there.

Also, J Temme was training with sturt, but from what i heard, he may not make the list down there and will be staying at Lofty.
