Round 2 1991 wasn't a night match, but the lights may have been turned on in the last quarter - it was the 2nd match in a double header.

Round 17 1986
Port 0.3 2.6 6.8 8.10 (58)
North 4.4 4.4 7.5 7.8 (50)
Alberton, 8158

Round 2 1991
Port 2.1 5.3 8.7 11.8 (74)
North 4.3 6.4 8.5 11.7 (73)
Football Park, 9616 (D/H)

Thanks for that Spelly. Even though we lost I remember really enjoying the game in 91.

North vs West, Round 13, 1990.

One of the biggest winning margins I've ever witnessed from a North game - 135 points! At one stage in the second quarter it was 12 goals to 1. Highlights from Prospect Oval:

This was a great game of football. Should have been a draw though neither side deserved to win or lose.

North vs West, Round 5 1990.

North struggled a lot in the first half, but were too good in the second half resulting in a comfortable win. Troy Lehman kicks a great goal from the wing. Highlights from Football Park:

North vs South, 1990 1st Semi Final

One of my favourite North matches. Before the match started our line-up was quite depleted. Nunan had to debut two 16-year-olds, Peter Turner and Ben Hart, just to fill the team. It got worse though, by the time-on period of the 1st quarter North had lost Parsons and Trenordan to injuries, leaving us with no interchange bench. With Redden out of the side due to injuries, Bennett took on the rucking role for the rest of the game. Both North's experienced players and many youngsters stood up extremely well to the challenge. None more than Darren Jarman, "Jarman Magic" producing a whopping 9 goals (which would have to be the most dominating performance I've seen from a player in a SANFL game). Almost 18 minutes of highlights from Football Park:

A huge thanks to a fellow North supporter who has lent me his copy of the full "Father's Day Game" (which I've been after for 18 years). I've therefore uploaded much better quality highlights of the game.

North vs Port, Round 21, 1989.

This game was moved from Saturday at Alberton to Sunday at Footy Park. It was heavily promoted and 30 thousand attended. Top spot was up for grabs. The highlights were D Jarman's 5 goals, the Steven Riley/Wayne Mahney brawl and the see-saw changing of the lead during the last 40 minutes of the match. One of the great games of SANFL football. 30 minutes of highlights (of every goal and fight) from Football Park:

Remember this game for three things...

1. Danny Hughes smacking Peter Bennett in the head and somehow not giving away the free kick.

2. Bruce Abernethy kicking the winner.

3. The sub-human North supporter sitting behind me.

North vs Eagles, 1991 Qualifying Final.

This game was the WWT Eagles' first ever finals loss (from memory we were the first team to ever beat them in the minor round as well). Our dominant defence was far too good for the Eagles, resulting in a comfortable win of premiership football. Highlights from Football Park:

North vs Norwood, Round 4, 1996.

North looked pretty average for much of the game but finished very strong in a terrific last quarter to win a great come-from-behind victory. Some familiar faces from the crowd at the end. Brendon Parker takes a big grab. Highlights from Prospect Oval:

North vs Glenelg, Round 9, 1995.

Great game this one. Very even for most of the game until North exploded by outscoring the Bays 9 goals to 0 in the last quarter (with 8 goals coming from the last 14 minutes of the game). Brodie Atkinson kicks 5, a decent brawl involving Parker and others, and Sean Tasker's 100th game. Highlights of the last half from Glenelg Oval:

Ahh the infamous Cornesy circling the umpires at 3/4 time game.....

Which you can't blame him for some very baffling decisions favoured North that game:

First Gerke crashes into Jon Symonds "Play on" calls Timmy Kowal...Bartlett remonstrates with Gerke and gives away a free kick.

Okay fair enough....

5 mins later the ball then goes out to Gerke.... who takes the mark Bartlett gets him high....then Parker charges into Bartlett and gets him high...heres me thinking okay the umpires going to reverse it here like he did two minutes ago nup 25 m to Gerke.....In the vision you seen Dean Bailey ask the same ******* question....

Glenelg players think WTF, they lose it for the next 10 mins - how come you ping us but not them - but to be honest that was bad footy though on our part....

Momentum gone - North run over the top of us...

North played the better footy and deserved to win but hell you got a good ride that day at crucial times when the game was on the line....

My other abiding memory is some old hens sat behind us (the Glenelg bench) and just bagged us mercilessly when North started getting a roll on in the last qtr gee they were annoying....

Funny how Timmy Kowal never really kicked on after that game with his umpiring....

LMAO though at David Strooper trying to fly the flag for us in the brawl.....toughest thing he ever did for us

Thanks for the memories Mic
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

North vs South, Round 22, 1996.

Fairly even for most of the game but North broke away by blasting a heap of goals in the last quarter. Tim Nunan got hospitalised with a broken jaw. Squire kicks some nice goals. My video player didn't agree with the tape very much so the picture and audio quality is poor. Highlights from Prospect Oval:

North vs West - 1995 Elimination Final.

The game was fairly even for the 1st half, with North struggling to get it together against a fairly average West side. A burst of goals in the 3rd quarter from the Roosters ended the game pretty quickly. Fielke from the Bloods gets reported for striking the North runner after they collided. North vs Port, Round 17, 1996.

A game we probably shouldn't have won being 6th spot and playing against 2nd spot, key players such as Sandford, Squire and Francou out injured, and losing Tasker and Perkins during the game to injuries. But still, North fought back to win by just 2 points in a last quarter that seemed to last forever. The legend David "Sheep" Sanders' 300th game. Highlights from Alberton Oval:
