As far as S. Carter, A. Steed, B. Leys etc. are concerned they turned up at every Gepps X fund raiser and always spent big on auction items, quiz nights etc, etc. A fair percentage of the money they made was 'donated' back to the club.
Adam Heuskes was always happy to support the juniors at Gepps Cross. When the Power were playing at home he would always stop by Gepps X in the morning and sit by himself watching the juniors have a kick. Was always quiet and very polite. Adam also took some coaching clinics for the kids too. He would make a terrific kids coach but obviously has an image problem.

An image problem because he saw the light & fu**ed off from Gepps Cross.
I bet if he never left there you wouldn't be saying the same thing.

No Mercy, your name says it all!!! If my memory is correct,Adam Hueskes left Gepps to play at North Adelaide and was always to return to Gepps to finish his footy. He had to finish at North due to cronic ankle problems, has had surgery but they are 'buggered' to say the least. Watching him go 'round in the GSFL is not seeing the player as he was known, can't run.
. The reason he didn't go back to Gepps has been well documented in earlier posts, I suggest he would be welcome back there at any time and your remark is a long way off the mark. I hope you get to meet him one day, then maybe ask him if your statement is worthy of any comment.

No problem aceman, i actually know Hewy well.
He's not running as freely these days, but i'd have him in my side & Gepps would take him back with open arms.
I'm a long way off the mark with what aceman?
What he was getting payed?????
I don't think so.

No Mercy I think you need to go back over what has been written....It's all been very positive in relation to Huey and people from Gepps have openly said they wished they had him back. Your posts are starting to sound like you're in front of a computer with a bottle of methylated spirits. Not making much sense at all.

I think seeing you know huey so well you should ask him what he thinks of Gepps. It would be all positive with the exception of the recently departed football director and coach who didn't want him back at the club.

I think that the people who have something bad to say about Huey have never met him!

They are absolute wan#ers that just like to spread ridiculous and vicious crap about him when he has done nothing wrong! He is one of the best and most respected blokes anyone will ever meet and is a great bloke to have around a footy club as boozehound stated! I just wish everyone would stop bagging him because he deserves better than that! If you happen to be playing against him this year, go over and have a chat - he loves nothing more than a good chat during a game!

On another note - has Gepps lost anyone notable players?

I stood Heuskes in the 2nd half of Round 1 last season. All week we talked about him and his reputation, but we were suprised how good a bloke he was. Because I'm crippled and he was injured we spent most of the half chatting. He played the game in great spirit, was great for the oppositions young blokes and he even gave me a bit of praise then we had a beer after the game. Shows you cant always beleive what you read or hear.

pearcey i dont know what planet you were on when the port adelaide connection was at gepps x.
i remember the club running a lottery where every player was given $50 tickets to sell, the port boys were given 5 each and of the 20issued to them 19 were returned with shane holmes girlfriend buying the only ticket. sure they supported functions etc but you have to drink a lot of booze to put back most of their payments as was stated. as for sean jackson he wanted adam heuskes to return however was caught betweeen a rock and a hard place. he was never going to succeed at geppies because after he was appointed he was told 20 odd players had already left and therefore relegation was all he could try and achieve in year one. get off his back the people who disliked him got there way albeit 18 months after they originally tried.

I know whats been written.
I havn't bagged Huey booza, all i've said is what him & the likes of Carter,Leys,Holmes,Steed etc were getting payed & they all left for other clubs with there pockets full.
He may love the club but he didn't play for bugger all.
Ive heard a bit about the director down there & sounds like he's the bloke that needs to move on.
Why didn't Jackson want Huey at the club?
I don't know that one.

For the sake of repeating myself No Idea, oops sorry, no Mercy, Huey played & coached Gepps in his first year out of AFL for a figure of less than $3000.00. That will give you some idea & if you use a calculator you will find that works out to about $166 per game and for 2 nights of coaching as well. he was offered $1000.00 per game by 2 country clubs and $700 by a metro club, wasn't interested, played U/17's at Gepps, still has a lot of mates and loves the place. Why didn't Jackson want him there? Maybe because Huey had been to a much higher level than Jackson will ever get to, plus the FD dreamt up a story and some people fell for it. I won't go any further with that bit.
Adam Heuskes, one of the best to ever be at Gepps in every respect and your crap about him getting his pockets full is just that, utter crap

Well excuses can be made for any coach, however I would have to say it was not his footy smarts or lack there of that got him sacked. Probably more his lack of player management skills or his attitude. Amatuer league is not the AFL and thats they way he treats it, last minute decisions on game day based on the shade of green that the grass is is always going to put people off side. Not to mention his fantastic game plan of "kicking it down the line" that served the side so well against the Gullies......

Hey Aceman you seem to be in the know at Gepps. Did you ever play the game or are you just a frustrated watcher? Everyone in footy knows the ridiculous amounts your club paid those Port rejects and if you reckon you got value for money then that just goes to show how little you understand about footy culture. Yes Trevor put a lot of money into our club but it was not wasted money like at Gepps. You make it sound like you are in the know but we think your just another big talker! Sounds like Heuskes is not coming back. Once he went to another club he realised what your club was really like. Crap!

Footynut, I can proudly say that I have given 25 years service to Gepps Cross footy club, never been paid a cent and never wanted to be paid, was never a player there, had 2 sons play there from U/9's through to Seniors, and am extremely proud of what has happened there during my time. Unlike you, I have made some errors in judgement during my timeand have been the first to admit it, but at least I put my hand up and 'had a crack'.

Can you say the same??????

You're probably a boundary rider who has plenty to say on the mound behind peoples backs and a bit like the Minister's cat, full of p""s & wind

clearances can be registered with the SAAFL from today. It will be good to finally get some confirmation of the speculation from all clubs!
Pity we can't get confirmation of the $$$'s! ha ha
