Seeing its summer and there's not a lot happening.....

Who is the toughest player you've stood?

For me, who has only played a handful of RFL A grade games, it is:
1. Darrell Tilbrook (Cobdogla), 2. Robbie Bonner (Berri), 3. Clinton Eustice (Waikerie).

I reckon the rotation policy works pretty well just quietly...

Have to agree, the finals rotation has been working well. It gives equality to all clubs, and encourages each club to improve their facilities. Waikerie for example rarely had a final let alone a Grand final before the rotation, and now arguably has the best player facilities in the league with $$ spent on lighting, new change rooms, and extending their clubhouse. The idea of centralising has merit, but at what cost for the other 5 clubs. For the good of all clubs and facilities in the league the rotation must stay. We must remember, the facilities up here are excellent already (with the exception of the Barmera visitors change rooms, and the Lox Nth showers!) and we already attract SANFL and AFL trials!!

Also, i understand the Netball and Football want their finals to compliment each other. I find this baffling when it was only just over a season ago that the Netball assoc voted against following the football.

Let's not go overboard praising Waikerie's rooms. Very good - but not the result of having finals there....

The East Murray visitors changerooms have always been my favourite.

Individual shower stalls for the self conscious and if you are a bit peckish after the game they have a pizza oven installed.

I agree with you DW, but the point was Waikerie had to upgrade their facilities if they wanted to host SANFL games and the like. It is unlikely the expense would have been made if these matches were all played at Berri. As visiting teams we could have all been changing in rooms like EM, i'm sure it wouldn't worry the home side.

While on the subject, any news on how Renmark are going with their grandstand/changerooms? The last i heard the council was going to have to push it down because it was becoming unsafe?

I have also been told the reason why the visitors changerooms at Brown's Well are so small is because the 'Walls' are so thick.

Too true Cal, I was having more of a sly dig at the very, very friendly support the WFC received from the Loxton Waikerie Council.
It'll be interesting to see if the LNFC or the LFC would receive as much support in a much needed fix up. That comparison, I think, will be something to watch with interest in the not to distant future.

As for Renmark, BD might have a fair idea about that. But I think the grandstand/rooms will be fixed up as part of the combined sporting facility program which has recently been announced.

Actually, if you look at all of the major towns, except now for Waikerie, we have wonderful ovals, but the changerooms are all very outdated in their own way.

That is gold Supa. Great work.

DW - The grandstand at Renmark will be knocked down with new changerooms to be built. The plans for the new one look bloody sensational, and will be bigger and better than Waikerie's.

Is Leigh Kruger continuing on as a player this year? What was the reason for him not continuing as coach?
