Enthralling days play, I really enjoyed sitting down and watching 90% of that days play.
Got bored with one day cricket years and years ago but days like today remind me why I love test cricket so much.

How often does Australia have a collapse after having an opening partnership of over a 100. Has happened a lot over last 10 years, i predicted it would happen again when hearing the score during the Jacques/Hayden partnership.

Agreed but it wasn't like the openers dominated, the first session of play was unbelievable the way the Indians dominated early but couldn't get a wicket and then the Aussies turned up the run rate later in the session.

Should be another big crowd at the G tomorrow, this test series is well and truly alive especially with tests at spin friendly Sydney and Adelaide to come, Kumble was fantastic.

Kumble's bowling is well suited to Australian pitches because he is a leg-spinner (most offies struggle here) and his height gives him great bounce

Is that the 5th or 6th HAYDEN boxing day 100 ?
Every Boxing Day he seems to make them.
Agree with all the comments on Kumble
This man takes wickets v Australia on our decks, unlike the Kandyman.

Today the best number 11 batsman in the world CLARK made 21 *

Well you are right there mate. In the end the Indians faught back well led by there captian in kumble. But in the end the aussies still have 337 runs on the board. Anyway its going to be a really good series.

The Indians had some baffling field placings in the first session and a half, if they had been a bit more attacking, especially to Hayden once Jaques was out Australia could have been all out a long time before the end of the days play.
Today will be very interesting, Clarke and Johnson could do some real damage this morning for Australia. If the Indians get them out cheaply they will come out to bat with their tails up, but if they continue making runs like last night it could be very demoralising.

Lee has an early wicket, Jaffer caught behind by Gilly.

Dravid trying to set some sort of world record here, 29 balls faced and still on 0.

What's the most amount of balls someone has faced when getting out for a duck? I'd be interested to see if there was a record for an opener too as it's possible a tailender has racked up a few.

Human Beings impersonate famous legendary people.
We have an abundance of Elvis impersonators around the world.
At 1-30pm SA time on 891 ABC radio this was announced by a commentator
" WE HAVE A QUESTION FROM A INTERNET PERSON MAL,
MAL ASKS WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN A BALL HOLDS ITS LINE ?"

To the person who impersonated me, piss off.
And besides you all know I would never ask that question,
after all I know everything, just ask me.

On one of the worst + most unfortunate laws of cricket.
JOHNSON to GANgirlY short smashes into his ribcage , after turning his back.
The ball rebounds to square leg to HOGG
GanGIRLy is daydreaming [or foxing] and is out of his crease.
A clever HOGG pounces and throws down the stumps + GanGIRLy just makes his ground.
The ball hit the stumps and the ball richochets for 2 undeserved runs.[later deemed a dead ball ?]
What more could HOGG do ?
I think once the stumps are broken it should be deemed a dead ball.

Meanwhile both batsman HOGGing the strike when the spinner is on.
3/55 and in deep trouble and ohhhh for a 4th quick to clean up the flat track superstars.
INDIA 3/102 15 off the HOGG over.
If WARNE + MACGILL cant get these guys out how could we ever expect our champion o/d bowler to get them out.

Mal, I disagree with the stumps thing. If you can take a shot at getting someone out, you should also be able to benefit if you're good enough or smart enough to be in your crease.

They are certainly having no trouble with Hogg. Ganguly is a lovely timer of the cricket ball but i think he might get found out a little by Tait. Not going to be bothered much by Hogg that's for sure.

Also i fully agree with Dogwatcher.
